Turbo'ing your lancer information

Yea had a good chat to Henry about the megasquirts tonight. Looks the way to go

Largest injectors you can fit are best. Its always better to run them at, for example, 25% max duty cycle compared to 95% duty cycle.

Cheers for that, seeing as I am on a shoe string budget for this (I just happened to have everything laying around minus fueling parts, and a welder for the exhaust parts haha) which series/ identifying type/ model etc GSR items should I be looking for? Like 4G63/ 93/ Evo 3 or 4 etc... just don't want to go around buying useless parts because I am so new to mitsubishis

i worked out how much it has cost me to do my turbo 4g15

T28 BB turbo (second hand) $400
boost tee $110
custom manifold $550
gaskets $85
oil and water lines $100
fittings $200
split dump pipe $150
3inch exhaust $550
fuel pressure regulater $250
fuel pump $170
injectors $90
ECU $1700
tune $500
TOTAL = $4855

after all this on a safe tune only makes 112kw atw and the engine itself is still stock
:-/ and fot that you could get engine/ loom/ ecu all designed to be boosted hard

Hey guys im new to this forum an to lancers an turbos i jus recently got a 2000 ce lancer 4g93 running a t4 turbo massive intercooler methonal injection evo 5 injectors microtech computer 3 inch exhaust turbo timer its currently running 12psi honestly idk if the motor has forged internals or what has noisy lifters which im going to fix soon it pulls pretty hard looks like its had a new steel head gasket fitted

throw up a ride thread, i doubt anyone would forge an engine to run 12 psi lol

12psi is still 12psi more than the engine was originally designed for lol.

Exactly an thank you lol im looking at building another engine for it to run higher psi ill jus do it slowly bit by bit i jus didnt wanna blow this engine too early because personally I think 12 is alittle high for a completly stock internals motor so jus wanted some opinions of people who have the same or have had similar cheers

hieu's 1.8 has been running 16-18psi for about 18 months now standard internals and is still going strong. pre sure they tried to blow it up but it didn't.
depends on the individual motor though but 10-12psi should be fine. have some fun and drive it how it was built to be driven

Sweet i plan to build another motor it goes pretty well now the gayest thing about it is its auto  ive thought about changing it to manual but idk what the costs are has anyone here done it ?? I swapped my unregistered 4wd for This an its engineered an registered so was a good swap

i saw that car on ebay dont worry bout the other engine bro just convert it to manual and get a retune to make it perfect, 12 psi in a manual goes a hell of alot better that 12 in an auto  and i did run mine on 15 for a while with no worries

Yea starting bid was 2k on ebay he wanted 3500 for it jus has boisy lifters which ill fix soon an yea jus wanna get an idea of the cost for a manual swap

Maybe continue this conversation in the other thread you started, y'all are getting a bit off topic.

While your at it, start a ride tread, maybe give an intro as well.

Jus wanted to comment on here an say atm on a standard 4g93 im running a td04 with 12psi but im about to get a built 4g93 an i wanna run 25psi im looking at getting a gt2860 i also run methonal injection (elderbrock vara-ject) an a standalone microtech computer

Has anyone got some info on what injectors id need to use running 25psi ? Any help would be great !
Like 2000cc.
Realistically you want as big an injector as you cab physically fit in for boosting

1000cc or similar should be fine, really depends on what power you want to make. Evos make like 200-300kw using 1250s and similar.

turbo related question.

what are the holes around the compressor inlet for? what is their function on some turbos (because not all have them)

anti surge

https://www.google.com.au/webhp?sourcei ... %20housing

essentially for when your turbo starts pushing in more air than the engine can breath and you get surge

Ported-Shroud-diagram.jpg

Its prevents or reduces cavitation or stalling of the impeller blades when the boost is high but the airflow is low. By bleeding stagnant air back through housing, it can maintain a higher airspeed that normal to prevent stalling.

Its effectively widens your compressor map, but at the cost of reduced efficiency.

Question what boost have people pushed thru there stock unopened n/a 4g93's ? Ive just been doing everything to convert to e85 an ill be running 14psi
