I just think the page needs to be broken up a bit. I'll have a dig around and see if I can discover the secret of columns.

As for the idea I am undecided, because we already have the portal page as the main page and it has that sort of thing already so doing this to the board index would be doubling up a bit.

It's not just a matter of making the columns (I think I could work that part out) but then there is all the other HTML, CSS and php coding to obtain and display the data from the MySQL database. It's alot easier said than done....
 
I figured because you already had the similar setup on the portal page, you already had the SQL entry information output side down, and it would be a simpler job. I guess I was wrong though.

That was just an example of what could have been there though. Like I said, I feel that the page just needs to be broken up a bit more. A gallery slideshow, or even move the 'recently posted in section' to the half page would work (maybe as a scolling window - MCA style).

However, if you like the way it is ignore me completely. I am just saying how I would like to see it.

What do you think about the sig sizes though?

i think we need too try a new chat box, when i use my mums laptop freezes when i type in it sometimes
 
Interesting, I've never had an issue with the minichat personally....

What browser and OS are you using?

It's a simple AJAX based chat and I've used it fine on IE6,7,8 FF3.5,3.6 and 4 beta....
 
Yeah I've had it freeze up IE when I go to type and someone else is typing as well and send at the sametime, my whole browser shuts down.
 
There's your problem. Ditch IE6 its a out-dated pile of crap full of problems and security issues!

No offence but if the problem is only evident in IE6 I'm not really going to go wasting time trying to find the bug, change web browsers, it'll save me alot of time and you'll get the benefit of a decent web browser!!!

Here's a good read for those of you hanging onto IE6:
