Needs to go above recent topics bit. Just sayin

Done, just had to rearrange some HTML code and purge the cache! :D

The way it was before was how the modification guide for the Recent topics list told me to do it....

But thinking about it, do we even need the read new, unasnwered, etc part? I'm thinking remove all those ones from the left hand side and just leave the Mark all as read on the right-hand side.

Alternatively I could move all of it to the bottom of the forum list?

It's the only button I ever use. I don't browse forums individually unless I'm looking for something specifically that the search function can't locate.

Best button ever.

Also number of replies per page needs increasing.

What else can I demand be done?

 I was in the process of doing it already so what I had did overworte yours :p

15 is fairly norm on forums these days... 25 will be too slow for people on dodgey internet connections or using mobile devices...

Plus the way phpBB works I assume it will mean extra wasted time connecting to the database to retrieve upto 25 posts, when very rarely would people even need the 15 on the same page if they are regularly visitting the same topic...

Where I have the option I set it to 50. Such as vBulletin etc.

But okay, for all of you iphone peons!

 Even still on a PC i prefer only 15 or so posts a page!

The Vbulletin forums I've seen look *poo* compared to phpBB3 though...

My next project is to clean up the topic notification email. Haven't noticed an option to do that yet though, so might have to find a mod...

It just means you have to click more to get to the replies of bigger threads.

They look pretty much the same as this hey, I just like how you can set your own preferences in relation to posts per page (forum and topic wise).

It's all pretty much the same anyway :)

The ones I've seen look much more like the older phpBB2 style and not as 'clean and smooth' looking as phpBB3, maybe they just have old templetes/versions of vBuletin then...

The latest version of vBulletin with a decent skin is very much like this.

Am now looking at developing a mobile version for AusLancer. I've found a mod which should auto detect mobile devices that browse AL and then reformat it to better work on the mobile's screen. The main phone I will be looking at developing it for will be the iPhone, but it should work with other mobile devices.

What would be really cool is a iPhone app, but that will be too hard I think...

Although I have found one solution Tapatalk, which is a $3.99 application but it works with any boards that have their plug in installed. However I would prefer a free solution.

lol course u prefer the free solution n all that :p ...what we need is a skin for the forum...something with blacks n blues n carbon fibre mmmmm carbon fibre......and brushed aluminium mmmmmmmm *drool*

 They are all free solutions on the server side of things, but it requires the user to purchase an application from these other mobs via Apple's App. Store. One program costs $1.19 whilst the other one costs $3.99.

Like I said I have found a theme which auto detects if its a mobile browser (such as IE on Windows Mobile or Safari on iPhones/iPod Touch) and then optimizes the page so I'll try this tonight or over the weekend.

As for alternative themes, feel free to find one for phpbb v3 off the net and I will look at adding it. However, I cannot guarantee that features such as quick reply and the recent topics box on the index page will work in it. These mods from memory were made to the prosilver style and not globally to all styles...

It will work if you use the installer if not adding part of the prosilver template code to it will work

DUnno about the installers, but I just manually added the files and replaced/added the lines of code for the mods. But they were all designed for Prosilver, so they would probably need colour scheme tweaking to work with a different style. If you can find a decent style then pass the link on Drakos and I'll see what I can do or better still what I can get the webmaster to do :p
