My pod Setup

I thought the above said 'inwards' of the MAF was critical, but 'outwards' was not...

if air get through after the maf it will not be measured causing it to play havoc, but if its is before the maf then it will still be measured

problem sorted out :) turns out there is a little bracket just after my MAF Sensor and what this bracket does it lets a certain amount of air into the engine. below is the bracket which needs to be on for CE lancers. because my car has a ECU its all controlled by a computer. next weekend going to put my stock airbox back on and prob look at getting K&N Pannels. also never really felt comfortable with running a pod filter down the front bar. but hay thats just me. everyone has different opinions. below is the bracket im talking bout.

as you can see from this bracket it only lets a set amount of air into the engine at a certain time.

Bahahaha that plastic plate is part of the maf it allows a measured amount of air to flow through. Generally when people take that plate off it *fudge*s the maf and it won't function properly. If you've taken that off put it back on with sikaflex or similar and then reattach the pod and it'll be fine.

nothing wrong with an air box.. just sort the path of cold air into it... still a good deal.

lol just looked at the pic again, your right.

He still needs the adaptor tho

Yeah so that it can clear that plastic that's needed haha, removing that plate is just like running the car with the maf disconnected.

i dont care which filter u go with, but ppl who say this sort of thing give pods a bad name for no reason

pods are just as good as a stock system ('sometimes' better) if set up right
same as a pannel setup can be sheet if setup badly

Pods are the choice of some for their needs, panels for us who want it to look fairly stock. I would think there is more to be had in using a Pod, but you have to get it right. I agree with Res, sensationalist claims by the inexperienced may not be fair in general...

I have heard some amazing pods, which sound tough (must be doing the business), but they can also cost a motza!

lol yeh my bros sounds mad. but his car can be modified with no problems but with my Lancer CE it is ran by an ECU computer controlled. but oh well lol plus the filter was like 20 bucks and you get what you pay for.

it has nothing to do with the ecu dan rofl, need a clean air source and the air regulator on the maf back on and ur car should run like normal if not abit better because of the good air source (not hot air from engine bay :p)

thanks doc Fuzn :D

i cant remember exactly skippy his car is much older and yeh i dont know it just works lol anywayz i bought this new bracket gonna give the pod one more shot if its 2 much hard work ill just either stick with stock or go K&N pannel filters.

New adapter on pod is working fantastically :D thanks to all for helping me resolve this problem greatly appreciated.

Cheers
