extractors

Very open ended question,

$250 is cheap for extractors. and if you want to buy them... buy them

i got HM Headers for my 4g15 for 230 odd dollars and it was the best thing i ever did to my lancer.

so are there soome brands which are better than others, or are they pretty much the same, also installation wise, proffesional needed or is it a day job?>

i got em for my lancer waste of money imo & they were "tiger" headers & after the drive home they started to surface rust & looked poo but upto you i sapose

isn't that where josh got his, read his lancer thread he had tones of bad news with his

Josh's were XForce ones from XRacing... not Hens - two different workshops. Henry's a performance based shop and does his own stuff, whereas XRacing is a bodykit shop. Josh's problems seem to have mainly been him not liking the sound of the stainless headers.

I own Josh's car now, and I like the sound of the xforce headers :D
I'm getting rid of the HKS cannon soon thou, not a fan of cannons lol :)

i cant say from experience just yet, but if u find a cheap set of extractors like i did, i'd give it a go, get some experience under ur belt of what they do
its not like u will lose power

i do believe the setup hens sells for the 4g93 is not a direct bolt onto the stock cat, so u will either need to weld them onto ur front pipe or get a exhaust shop to weld it
so that extra cost is something to consider

i hear rumours that stainless steel ones sound tinny, so if u want to be on the safe side get some mild steel ones or whatever the norm is

as usual, 4-2-1 is for a bit of extra mid range and high end power, and 4-1 is for high end
but these setups also depend on how long the actual runners are for each outlet i believe

i have never heard a bad word about hens products, so i'd say his are going to be a good buy for you

you can lose power from dodgey headers..

Get ceramic ones. pacemakers / hm headers / lukey / dc sports or anything along the lines of that, they are cheap and great bang for buck but you wont get as good gains as you would with 1000 dollar decent stainless ones.

If you go too cheap with your set up it'll sound like a loose robot fart, get a good muffler to go with it. None of this canon *poo*.

I have full polished 4-2-1 stainless extractors, 2.5" mandrel slice cuts... nice. That cost me $430 landed from OS.

I would say the sound is way better, firstly. Secondly, the mid-range (where the CJ 2.0 CVT lacks badly) improved marginally. The fuel consumption worsened slightly, but quite happy with the minor output improvement.

Hey guys I'm hunting for headers for my 4b12 I only know 2 places that make them and ones Rpw and hurricane headers hurricane wants $800+ for them and what's a good high flow brand??
