Dash painting

the material section isn't a separate panel it is just an indent, if your going to paint it you need to remove the material and clean off all the glue.

ok, so the older cars have it harder than CJs.. sorry for the mix up..

Good luck adding the material to an indent!

Yea datz true, thankz mate but do U think its better to put different material ontop and try and squeeze it into the indents or just sand it down and repaint it..?.. How did U do yurs..?..

i just removed the glue and repainted it, will be hard to get new material to sit neatly in there unless your a upholster

or if you can get your hands on a much gun then you could cut the panel and re-attach it with the munch gun

Hey resuliac where did you get the pic of the storm trooper mirage from? i love the monster tacho thats in it. Or if anyone knows what brand and model it is? I want one for my car

well you would wanna have spare pieces of dash ur going to paint just incase it turns out sh*t
and its alot of trial and error as i have seen

if you are after somethign like zis, then where it is white they have fibreglass'ed or sanded it down smooth and applyed some glossy white paint (maybe car paint i dunno)
i think they used fibreglass in this one to smoothe it b4 paint went on, then get some good paint and do primer and layer on the paint sanding in between layers then a clear coat
mypic70.jpg

(referance pic from the storm trooper mirage)

you will wanna get a spare piece of dash as a test piece first to see if u can get the right finish
it shouldnt be too hard if u take ur time and plan it out well

im planning on doing this exact thing to my car in the future, so i had a bit of a research myself

just places man, i sorta stumble across the pics every once in a while and save them in a big folder

that is the only pic i have ever found of the storm troopers interior, dont have any specs on it or kno what brand the tach is, tbh the tach wouldnt be too much different from any other monster tach, there are a few on ebay that look quite similar

alright thanks mate. i mainly just wanted one with led shift light instead of one with the solid light. and does anyone know about the laws to do with having a tacho where that one is positioned? i have heard that it cant be above the highest part of the dash but most would be above
