hey guys i know this may not be an issue with anybody but i was thinking maybe we could go for a new design?

something like this but with a lancer outline:

ftoaubanner.jpg

i know its a bit cliche as a lot of other car forums have the same kind of thing with whatever car be in place of the fto for whatever car the forum is based on.

thoughts?

im up for being completely shut down too on this lol.

also it would make for a good sticker!

problem is FTO's only have 1 shape, whereas lancers have like 7 now or more, would be hard to choose which one and keep everyone happy

Tbh I like the current logo as it is now... And no point in copying another forum style, we'd be better of getting ssomething original going...

The current logo we have is original and is working well..

I would say it doesnt work with stickers but does as the fourm header.

This is why forum stickers are "WWW.AUSLANCER.COM"

Yeah the forum logo in its current state I feel is fine, the decals work out well. Keep in mind a fancier decal style would likely increase the cost...

I quite like the forum banner simple but involved enough so it doesn't look boring. Much better than some of the other forum banners I have seen. I think instead of looking intO new banners we should be looking into some auslancer gear eg shirts, and such. I know alot of my mates on calibra.org have em and use then when going to meets and out and about. They look real good. And it's a way to raise a bit of money for the forum too. I know we got mugs just giving ideas

we have mugs! But no one seems to buy them... I for one will happily throw money into buying merchandise... but gauging the failure, thus far, of the mugs (13-odd said they would buy and only 6 have been sold), it's difficult to have a win.

Just ask Ryan, who sits on stock of decals.

Flagrant bump for mugs! Buy them people.. some of the proceeds goes to running the club...

Uptake of the mugs has been lack lustre. We would need probably atleast 10 firm orders paid upfront to even consider other merch. I simply dont have that much in excess from prem membership or personally to front up the dosh for any other gear atm...

I expect to sit on the decals for a while, that isn't an issue and given price comes down with bulk its the only thing I am really prepared to sit on a supply of (since decals are really the integral merch for a car forum)....

Jumpers would be cool merch, but yeah people having firm orders would be the issue. But I reckon if we did get jumpers, have the Logo across the top back, then have the Region your from (eg. WA, NSW, Far North, Vic, etc) and maybe even usernames or nicknames you want on it... Just an idea...

Deviating from one fixed style would most likely put the costs up....

We are happy to consider merch, but we need enough firm orders. Until that happens, the merch isn't happening!

I think next move is to get a thread going on about Merch AusLancer Shirts and get members to pay upfront, Once we have the 10 put the order in.

As to mugs, I didnt get one due to the fact, I dont drink coffee or tea. But everyone wears shirts, right?

also shirts will need to be in different sizes, so the price might not be that cheap unless they were all 1 size

Use your mug as a pen/pencil/thingo holder on your desk if you don't drink coffee/tea.

Maybe if we get it done elsewhere, but my mate (who made the mugs) who has a huge promo business in Toowoomba will supply any shirt style, any number as long as we use the same embroidery on each.. He does not have to supply minimum quantities for us (because he would be doing me a favour). He will give me the shirts at cost and there would be no set-up fee for the embroidery. Although, if we continue to get stuff made with my mate, I will ensure we pay no more than we could get elsewhere for a minimum 100 order price... (not that we will get 100 of anything, ever...)

Additionally, I could assist with the digitising, as I have the same EMBIRD program on my computer.

My wife has a semi-professional embroidery machine, hence me having the program.

I just think we should concentrate on 'one', before doing 'two'...

Hey guys, I just thought I'd chuck this in here as I see you're talking of making T-Shirts... I made a singlet with a drawing of my car on it on this website and my partner has a mug with his business logo on it. I joined the site for free. And you can earn money from it the more you sell. http://www.cafepress.com.au/ But if you're really serious about making money from it you'd have to make a lot of merchandise to make up for the 1 year Premium Shop subscription of $69.86...
Just an idea :)

Here's my singlet (terrible photo)...

I would buy a shirt like this.
Not sure how many would go for it or how easy/cheap it is.
Probs have the auslancer bit wrap around the side just above the seam.

PS I am boss at MS Paint haha.
