Wheel and Tyre Question/Information Thread

205/40/17 size, plenty of good cheap tyres around. Check out Kumho KU31, Federal 595, etc for good cheap road tyres

If you want a good reliable place hit up option one garage in Hamilton, they'll stretch any tyre size on to any wheel no questions asked, plus they're cheap

Hey guys I have a quick question which needs answering ASAP. I need to get 4 rims fitted with tyres, and option 1 garage have quoted me $115 for fitting and balancing for A PAIR of (only 2) ku31's which are 195/50. I was planning on having 195/45's allround, but they said that if I put 195/50 on the rear and 195/45 on the front that would be alright. Why I'm asking is because they are really cheap plus they have the two today and I can go get the other two fitted on Monday. What are your opinions on running 50's on the rear and 45's on the front?

might look weird, but it wont effect anything. might scrub a touch more too

you're not planning on running your 16x8 on stock suspension are you? $115 for two is a bit pricey for fitting and balancing. for that price, id go elsewhere and get proper sized tyres

I think he means that's the price of the tyres plus fitting and balancing, is that correct? If so that's pretty cheap. There's not a whole lot of difference there, both will still have plenty of stretch and shouldn't throw your rolling diameter out

Just picked up the rims tonight has decent tread on them but the wheels are 215s not 05s

Still should be sweet? Puttin em on tomorrow morning

Re: XXR527 wheels

you want a pcd of 4x100
for a good amount of poke (like joshy morris) you mant to go MAX (15/16/17)x8 +20

You may have to remove the upper inner gaurd lining
I think running them they may scrub a bit on full lock compared to the 205s

I am opposite to most. Have 'standard' mag rims 195 55sand would like to RAISE the car for better clearance and hopefully fuel economy. How big profile beforee they scrub or how hard would be to add coil spacers

why would raising, increase fuel econ? and if you go above stock standard body roll will be nightmare

Where in Brizzy would be a good place to get tyres fitted to my 16x8 rims? I was thinking 195/45 KU31 tyres stretched... Where would be a reliable reasonably placed tyre shop that could do this for me?

talk to paulie i suspect he would know people who will do it

Option 1 Garage... They have alot of Kumho tyres pretty cheap.
