hi Guys,

i am about to do my Timing Belt service and was wondering if there is any suggestion on this topic. Auto tunes is saying they change the belt and pulleys for around $500 the other service is saying just the belt is enough as pulleys are usually fine.

and if you have any service recommendation in Sydney area.

thanks
marcel

im just about to send mine in for a timing belt. was talking to my mechanic, and he normally changed the seals and that with the belt, and doesnt change the pulleys

I say do the whole lot, seals and the water pump. considering you can get a full kit off ebay for about 120 with pulleys and seals not inc water pump.
Most of the charge for this is labour so may aswell do the lot, I've had the crank seal fail and its not pretty and it'll ill destroy the belt and have to be replaced again.
Up to your self but do it all and your good to go for another 90,000 ks is my thoughts.

Do it all trust me its worth it. And will be better than doing half and having it *poo* itself a little later down the track.

Sent from my iPhoshizle

Another one for do it all. Might as well anyway while you're at it.

Had a timing belt snap and it cost $3000 to fix the damage.

do it all and do it yourself that way you know it has been done... you do ned a engine crane to make the jobb easier
