Hey peeps

Is there anything i need to know when throwing a 4G93 CE engine into a Mirage?

Basically got our hands on a CE MR front cut

i couldnt find anything, but id assume the obvious stuff, engine/box/loom/dash cluster.

A pillers forward are the same.
You need to use the 4G93 engine mounts as they are slightly different to the 4g15 mounts.

Is there anything different in kframe, gearbox, crossmember, brake booster??

yeah im sure its the same, never heared of ppl changing them when the swap the 1.5 for the 1.8 or even the 2l

not really mike.
Just swap everything over if you are using the stock ecu.

Ok a few lil probs ive seen

Cant use the dash loom coz the lancer loom doesnt have the wiring for the rear wiper

Cant use the Mirage loom coz it doesnt support the tacho cluster

What do people suggest??

Use the Lancer loom and wire rear wiper up on a switch?? or use Mirage dash loom and some how wire up so the tacho works??

Another thing is, the MR cut we got was fairly damaged, so cant use the a/c condensor, radiator and front loom.... does the mirage A/c pump and lines fit with the 1.8 engine

i would use the lancer loom and wire up the rear wiper, would be easier.
i would assume that the a/c gear is very similar

After spending time pulling interior looms to pieces, I can say that I've noticed that the Mirage loom and 1.8 loom are identical.

no they're not

The 1.8 look has the tacho feed (white) wire on the dash loom which leads to the blue plug behind the cluster, it also has extra 6 plugs scattered around for the SRS airbags and a plug for the front fog lights
The mirage loom has 1 extra plug for the rear wiper that goes to the stalk on the left side of the steering wheel

I had my Mirage CE3 loom and a 1.8 Sedan CE3 loom, both looms were indentical except for the power windows and doors.

I still have a box full of all the wires and plugs I stripped out off the loom.

In most cases the looms are the same to lower cost when manufacturing the cars. I haven't seen the looms myself so I can't say. But the rear wiper would be the only thing I would expect not to see on the lancer loom, but then again in the interest of saving money....

Correct, all to do with scales of economy.

The mirage loom doesnt have the fog light plug, and im also sure it doesnt have the power windows plugs that go through the doors

Just put cnut in all ready, we do evo conversions all the time. No way this little mirage is going to be any harder lol

Its not hard Chase, just need to see opinions what loom to use

Im leaning towards the MR loom, just means i need to wire in the rear window wiper and water sprayer... might have to use the cc evo rear wiper button lol
