How to remove steering wheel shroud?

Hi,
Is anyone able to assist me with removing my steering wheel shroud?

I am wondering whether I need to remove the steering wheel (not keen on doing this due to airbags)? or can I remove it some other way?

Pictures on DIY would be great.

Thanks.

There should screws underneath the wheel. Just unscrew them and the bottom part should slide off and the top half will lift off. Im not sure about the ignition etting in the way though....

Yes, there is only one screw which is about a good 10-15cm deep inside the screw hole. But I managed to remove it.

Anyway, the top part comes off easily but there isn't much space for the bottom part to slide off. It is coming out slightly but there seems to be something stopping it (hard to see what).

Btw I've pulled the steering height adjustment lever down also.

How solid is the bottom part, because it should have clips holding it, so it might need to be maneuvered a bit to get off. A bit of force might be needed, but just watch out so you dont bend it or anything.

It's pretty(very) loose, just a matter of wiggling it out the right way. I don't want to put too much force.

Do you own a Lancer CH?

Hey Mit72 - you probs already figured it out...but just undo the screws and wiggle it around while moving the steering wheel....and use a bit of force and it will all pull out....

ahaha i still havent found the time to do so. But yeah there is one screw which is a pain in the backside to remove. It's actually quite loose already as I've partly removed the screw but the steering wheel seems to be getting in the way. I may have to slightly bring the shroud down on an angle. :?:

Thanks for your help dingle
