Forum Announcement

As some of you have probably now noticed there has been some changes in the ranks today.

lilandonaki has been added to the mod team and at the same time Trondabron and Skippy have both been promoted to administrators. We will also likely choose another moderator shortly and I'll announce that in this thread.

The forum has been going for almost 3 years now and it's come a long way but with shifting priorities for myself I want to take a bit more of a backseat role now. Over the coming months I'll be getting Skip and Trond upto speed with the Admin side of the forum and after that I'll just be managing the server-side of the forum and the merchandise.

So I guess I'd like you to all welcome the guys into their new roles.

well grats to those peeps gettin a bump up the food chain,

what sort of mod roles will you be lookin at over the near future?

First and foremost, thank you Ryan!

You have helped lift Auslancer off the ground from just an idea, and turned it into a national forum. It has become a place where all owners of Lancers learn and talk about these cars, make friendships, and get ideas and advice from others. There have been many other Lancer-based forums and they've all reached a high point and then headed downhill. I feel Auslancer is still growing, and with this changeover of bosses, i hope to see it grow to a much larger scale. Well done on an excellent (almost) 3 years!

Thank you Ryan, and as Anthony said above, the forum you have made is an awesome at that! I, as I'm sure Brendan, will be happy continuing on running AusLancer and expanding this community we have!

On a second note, Congrats to Anthony (lilandonaki) for being promoted. He has been around here longer then I have, and I feel will contribute to "The Team" to help keep this place going!

Finally, I'd like to say, I don't plan on doing anything radical, mainly keep running this place as a likable place, a place where people feel happy to post and the community behind it is awesome! An Admin's role is only part of all the roles in the forum, we rely on our Moderators to help on the day-to-day and our Members of all sort to help provide the content and help others out!

Peace!

Someone that's demonstrated they are an active and 'well-behaved' member on the forum....

Congratz fellas. Ryan I'm happy to volunteer myself as a mod as skip is the only WA admin and now there is no mod. Pingu seems to be innactive aswell.

congrats fellas. A good update, since the other 2 admins seem barely active anymore. It still shows pingu and 12shw as moderators tho so that could use some fixing in case someone thinks they are still mods. and it doesn't say moderator under lilandonakis name yet..

My understanding of my position, is that I am fulfilling partial Mod duties. I can do the majority of normal Mod actions, however i am limited and am still under the control of the normal mods

Please correct me if im wrong normal mods/ryan(?)

Mods dont do much other than normal members, when a normal member would post "delete this spammer" the mod just does it. if anything its more effort to be a normal member and type, lol mods just click the delete button.

The role of mod is to delete (and ban) spammers, then refer them to the Admin who can Ban their IP and delete the user from the database. If someone posts something offensive then you moderate it, be it editing or just deleting. If it's a recurring issue with a particular member then refer it to Admin to deal with basically. Admin then also look after any issues with people signing up, changing any forum settings in the background, updating user's permissions, etc

Yeah was in the process of sorting this and all the other changes to the structure out, some settings I made previously were hard to find exactly where I had done it... Should be all sorted now.
