Evo 8 spoiler on CG

Mad. FibreSports has the Evo 8 spoiler for $429 (not including postage/painting/fitting), but their eBay shop has the same one for sale for just $300. What's up with that?

eBay gear is usually cheaper than an online store, even if it's the same manufacturer. Why? No idea.

Does it need to be evo 8? There's a couple other evo wings for $200 and less on gumtree/eBay

I think the Evo 8 spoiler would look the best, but I'll have a look at other ones on Gumtree. Cheers!

Why would you recommend carmate over fibresports? Quality doesn't compare between the two, and fibresports are our sponsor on here so you'll prob end up getting a deal through them if you say you're a member on here. As per the OP, he has already found the evo 8 spoiler through them, finding it is not the issue.

haha, I would go for Fibresports over Carmate definitely, Im just saying Carmate have an Evo8 spoiler that is matched for the CG boot. Fibresports probably have one as well :D

take a look at my my cg it has the spoiler you are looking at fitting. fibreglass ones flex and crack the paint on the corner of the blade.
i think the abs plastic ones that are 3 parts would be better (i still have the fibreglass one). what i also did with mine due to having a vrx with 3 leg spoiler was went and got a brand new es bootlid with no spoiler wholes so new holes could be drilled.
then you don't have to worry about the middle bolt hole.

How good is the quality/strength of plastic spoilers though? I want something that will look good, but just as importantly, something that will last.

I thought OEM factory spoilers were made from plastic? Shouldn't they be the best quality....?

If OEM spoilers are made from plastic, then what's the point of fibreglass spoilers? I understand why there are carbon fibre spoilers, but if plastic is the best quality, then why make fibreglass ones, which are more expensive?

well i have had my fibreglass one on my car since about 2006. only problems i have has was the paint cracking at the edge of the blade and it also seem to get water in it some how( i think it is along the crack in the paint where the blade joins to the ends). you might have to make some phone calls to find which is best for you. when i got mine they didn't make them in plastic as non oem bodykits in plastic were rare.

Plastic is more durable, doesn't crack the paint, etc. etc. They make em out of fiberglass if they aren't legit spoilers, just copies that can be easily mass produced. A lot harder to make custom parts out of plastic rather than fiberglass, hence why bumpers are plastic and body kits are fiberglass.

for that sort of money you could buy a genuine evo 7,8 maybe a 9 secondhand and they will all fit on the car.
