Hey all,

I've just spent a little bit of time installing the Tapatalk module for our forum.

For those who don't know about Tapatalk, basically it's a program which is available for the Android, iPhone, Nokia S60 Symbian and Blackberry smart phone platforms. The idea is it allows for PM notifications, direct uploads of files from your phone and also saves data (it only downloads the text/avatars of the forum and doesn't waste time downloading all the forum styling).

For the iPhone and Android it is a paid app (only a few $$), but there is a free app which will allow reading of the forum only. In any case it's a good idea to get the free one first to see if you actually like the look of it. I haven't used it too much yet, but I thought it would be a good way for me to improve the service I offer to the members of AusLancer.

Anyway, atleast have a play with the free version that's available if you have a smart phone and let me know what you think!

Cheers,
Ryan

Nice, wish I still had my 3g dropped it in the parramatta river a few weeks ago

Umm should be able to find it by just searching Tapatalk.... I only have a HTC Desire, so no idea how to locate it in the iTunes store.

Just searched Tapatalk on App Store, only saw the free one, just loading Touch BB lite, maybe that will work?

Oh that's great well done Ryan!! I'll have to install the App :)

Several free codes for iPhone here. Get in quick!

Apparently the trial version is being rejected atm by Apple and will he back soon.....

very good apps. I use it for other forum too, now auslancer.com have it, another site to visit during lunch time :)

I spent the whole 4 dollars on the app. Lol was going to ask when u were going to go iPhone friendly. Now I can troll from work.

Well personally I have an Android on Telstra with 2GB of data included so I just normally browse from the normal site layout...

Tapatalk is moreso useful though if you have limited data allowance or slow data speeds (ie. congested/patchy VHA/Optus 3G coverage).

Will probably still try look for a mobile template for the forum so you'd have the following options then:
*Normal
*Mobile template
*Tapatalk
