4g69 2.4 exhaust

I had a good search and was struggling to find results specific to the 2.4 ch, found a lot of good reading but nothing conclusive, if I have missed a thread, my bad.
Basically the cars booked in this friday for a catback exhaust, I plan to do headers-cat later.
I can't decide whether it's best to 2 1/4 inch or 2 1/2, I've had a few opinions saying different things, and I'm leaning towards 2 1/4 as I really don't want a droney exhaust but I thought I'd see if anyone else had some input first.
Not going mandrel bends, going mild steel crush bends mostly due to price.
I don't want to do something i'll regret.

i was told 2.25 inch for the cg 2.0 4g94 so i would think 2.5 for the 2.4 ch. what do the ch 2.4 comes out with 2 inch the same and the cg?

says stock system is 2 1/4

edit: which makes me wonder... if stock system is 2 1/4 is there any value to replacing anything other than the muffler if i was staying 2 1/4?

From what you've said previously, that your looking at doing more serious mods latter on and based on the rpw guide. I'd say a 2.5inch, if its too droney, just changer the muffler. It's better to do something right the first time rather that have to change the whole lot again latter on.

I have 21/2" on mine and it is not droney I also have a lukey muffler so it sounds good.
