Mirage Instrument Cluster with Tacometer

Hi, I have a 2003 Mirage which is great, but I really want to get a tacometer with it.
From what I've read any Instrument cluster out of a Lancer Coupe with taco will fit, but I'm a bit confused on how to actually go about this.

I've read other threads talking about blue wires, km modules and looms but I'm just a bit confused how involved the process is

Does anyone who's done it have any tips/info?

Thanks

With the tacho cluster in the car, the RPM signal is pin 58 on the ECU. Run a wire from there to the back of the cluster, and a ground wire to the back of the cluster too. And by back of the cluster I mean there will be small screws on the back of it, run it to those. Can't remember if they need to be specific ones but I'm sure you'll figure that out.

ECU is located in the front passenger foot-well attached to the side of the car (door-side). 2 screws to get it off. Unplug it and find pin 58, run the wire from that to the back of the tacho. Then find a bolt and ground a second wire from that to the tacho. If that doesn't work, abandon the idea of a factory tacho and wire up an aftermarket one instead.

Thanks heaps, you explained that incredibly well to a beginner like me. Is there much to changing over the odometer?

I think the module is jut a few screws to remove and replace, haven't dealt with a CE cluster in a long time so not 100% on that. If you need to get the plastic face off the front of the cluster to access it, use a screwdriver to gently push a few of the tabs under at the same time and it will fly off.
