ce instrument cluster

brand new to the site and looking for help with my 99 glxi sedan that came with a cluster that had no tacho, just a speedo with fuel level and temp. the cars manual so wanted a different cluster with a tacho but after taking the old one out and plugging the new one in, it doesn't respond at all...
