4g64? need some opinions - might buy a magna/recommend a car

A mate of mine used to have a TE Magna in 3L and manual. Was an awesome car, and a lot quicker than ppl realise. His dad is a rally car driver and took us for a ride one day....holy *poo* is all I can say! He lived out of town and took this sweeping bend, think it was a 60 zone at 140 bouncing off the limiter lol. That guy could drive. A big thing you'll prob notice in those cars is the gear shift travel is massive, so you wont be snapping through gears. Also, do not try to put a pod filter on it, even if you leave the MAF on they hate it, sounded cool but throws out the idle big time, and it kept stalling and going on even with the clutch all the way in.

that sounds just bloody awesome :).

thinking of a TJ Sports, found a few that seem to be in good condition. might check em out when i get a chance

Just save up and get a 1998-2000 Galant. V6 Twin Turbo. Yum yum.

But don't go slapping a body kit on it. Or anything remotely chrome. ;)

these are proving insanely hard to find in manual :(.

i went and took a look at 01 TJ sports in manual today....it was AWESOME. drove beautifully.

that said it had oil leaks, fml

checked out an fto today...if my dad gives me the all clear on the mechanical side of things its mine :). $6500 w/ rwc and 160k on the clock.

Yeah fto would be a heaps better choice. Magnas just feel too big for a FWD. Would be perfect if they were rear. The AWD would be a good option if you can find one in manual, but theyre like hens teeth

yeh had a look out for awd magnas. way overpriced for what they are, might as well spend the extra coin and get an older evo. hopefully this fto is all good and i can get my precious.

always could do that...however i really want something thats more out there, looks sexy etc. and something that goes a little harder than a lancer. For the amount im spending I don't think I'll be able to go any higher than a late model ce with a 4g93.

@geophray: when your dad can check it over, why not lol.

bahh i feel like a little kid, cant wait ><

well after a long *fudge* around with ftos, magnas and a CC gsr. I ended up with a Silver 01 VX Commodore. 120000kms on the clock with service history for 5700.

now I wait for the criticism :)
