4g15 dohc forge build

But by doing the 69 swap the car become illegal to road because of engineering codes and you'd be looking at probably more than what would be spent on a 15 dohc? Yeah it might be faster by a long way but i want it to be still road legal and be that guy with the 15 dohc that everyone thinks is slow but then gives them a boot full om the track/street

My car became illegal with the 4G93T conversion, the police cleared that up for me, lol.
Cost of engineering was less than 1K a quarter of the conversion cost. Now I'm winning at life and RBT's :D

Going through engineering isn't a problem if you've got all your ducks in a row so to speak.

If your dead keen on it look through this http://www.auslancer.com/index.php?threads/73ezns-ce.2862/
Should give you some insight and motivation.

His car is a complete pig to drive though apparently, it struggles up hills.

After reading the thread on the build it just makes me want to build mine even more, cheers heap :)

Does anyone on this forum happen to have a fto setup for sale? Am after the whole lot. Rotors, calipers, hubs, handbrake cable, rear trailing arm ect

You understand his build is worthwhile because the forged internals allow him to run massive boost?

The 2.4 in his car probably wouldn't be engineerable anyway as going from a 1.5 to a 2.4 is a big jump. But the best thing about that swap is it appears stock anyway so doesn't really need engieering. A cop would really have to know what they're looking at to get you as most just look for a big ass turbo or open pod filter.

Building the 1.5 is a massive waste, start with a stronger base. Will work out cheaper and better.

Have a mate with a b20/b18 frankenstein with fully forged internals and all that jazz. And its a massive nugget, probably similar to the stock 4g94. When it comes to n/a theres no replacement for displacement.

Are you aware if you build and engine for NA you will quite likely be rebuilding it for Turbo. High comp and boost are not friends.

you won't want heavy Fto brakes if you are planing to build and race a little 1.5

Just so we're all on the same page here.. what is your budget for this build?

Well if you want to spend the money I have some Fto brakes for sale. Only front atm though. Hubs, brakes and rotors and braided lines
