4g15 dohc forge build

Okay guys so I'm basically redoing the whole lot, forged everything. Hc pistons, hc conrods, valve springs, cams, tb, haltech ecu just everything... list is to big. I'm making a n/a car for when the drags open up and it's still going to be road legal. But i mainly need help with finding brake upgrade kit front and rears and I'd like to convert to the fto 5 stud with twin pot callipers. If anyone has any willing to sell or if anyone has any questions about the rebuild or know anyone whos done something similar let me know, ty ty

Sure am, 4g15 dohc with bigger cams, injectors, throttle body, exhaust, high comp pistions, conrods, valves and springs, ecu and well technically it will be a 4g16 dohc as I'm boring out 1mm for oversized pistons

Is there any particular reason you want to stay 4G15. Before you start buying things I strongly suggest you weigh up the cost of what you are planning and the gains you are likely to achieve.

Because everyone does 93 or fto swap and barely anyone has done a g15 dohc forge rebuild. Yeah I've added costs up and i can admitt its alot but i reckon it will be a pretty damn fast na 4g15

You will spend many many thousands of dollars and you'll be lucky to beat a 4G93 Lancer with bolt on mods in my opinion.
If you want to go all out N/A then start with a better base. Ideally a 4G69, but even a 4G93 will be a good starting point

Actually having driven both, the difference in power and torque (at least how it is felt) is greater than a 20% increase in displacement would suggest.
I've driven a 4G93 converted Mirage with bolt ons and it was a rapid little thing, to the extent that I doubt a 4G15 could keep up without boost.

Why not use a 4G93 DOHC motor?

But who else has done a g15dohc forge build? Everyone always either just swaps the motor out for a 93 or a fto. I want to be completely different and prove that a g15 with some money is more surprising than what people think

Mates done a fto swap and now doing a legnum swap in his ce, a guy got given *poo* for having a b16 in his eg then he rebuilt it with hc piston, conrod and hondata ecu and humiliated a b18 c with hc pistons and I'm going to do the with the 15 dohc and be the only person to have done it before

Ok, so if you are willing to spend this much money, why not do a 4G69 swap and then compete with a different caliber of car?
Instead of aiming to beat B18C Civics, why not beat K swapped Civics and/or turbo cars?

I don't want to be the guy who just has negative comments, but I think you should really reconsider this. In my opinion it can only end in disappointment.

I you want different, why not go a 4G69 with a DOHC head and custom cams etc

Also I would like to add that different isn't always better (or good).
It has never been done before because the cost vs return is poor.

g15 dohc forge build? Save your money and dump a g94 in it and go nuts on that instead. SOHC or not, will blow a dohc g15 away stock.

Because getting a 69 with modplate in a ce plus the custom cams and all the other same gizmos I'd do to the g15 would probably be more expense than the 15

Different is good, will be interesting to see what is achieved from it.
After all, one of the fastest cars here for quite a while was a 15DOHC............ Turbo.

In say that, the fastest N/A car here was Supan0va's Mirage with a G69, was doing mid 13's on stock internals. This might be what the guys are getting at.
His ride thread is a good read. Pity all the pics are gone.

Anyhooo, good luck with it. Keep us posted.

Hi welcome. The idea of of building a 1.5 is not new. Has been done years ago and was decided by all people who did it that it was a waste of time and money. After being around the Ce chassis for as long as I have I would be leaning towards a 4g69 if na is where you want to stay. Plenty more power out of that then you will get out of a 4g15. And you won't need a cam for the 69. And mivec to pass your vtec mates.

Also, if this is for drags why do you want to add weight with bigger brakes? And how much do you plan to strip the car out?

Lots of things to think about still by the sounds of it.

Haha... Spetz you dope.

Yeah im keen to see this. Mainly so everyone realises its a waste of time.

4g15's in a mirage do 17's stock at tha 1/4.
4g94's in a mirage do mid 15's stock at the 1/4.

I know where id be spending my cash.

I wouldnt be spending thousands on a build that would net me a 15 secondcar just so i can be different thats for sure....
