Hahahaha. Im lucky my misses is happy with a Hello Kitty bag or any other affiliated thing, doesnt even have to be official Sanrio...

Lol hello kitty sounds good to me maybe I can do the switch on my wife's bag and she don't notice to much lol lol

Does anyone know roughy the price tag for a turbo kit for the 1.5 and where to go apart from hens as I'm based in vic

It would be a self assemble kind of deal I think. Harder to execute than an engine swap if you're not confident though :/

Thanks Hugh-Ce for the heads up. I've read through some threads and read through the RPW thread and was wondering if they could provide a turbo kit for the 1.5 as they say they can but wanted to know if anyone on here has dealt with them before. My plan would be to buy the things I need then pay my mechanic for the installation cause my knowledge is lacking but can try with the right help as I'm not afraid to work and learn

So update just spoke to rpw in Perth and they gave me a quote for $5000 to $5500 for the main components and said once installed and tuned it should push it to $7000 to $7500. He mentioned I'll need to source intercooler so my question is if by some how I can manage to install it myself and just get the car tuned is it worth it just wanted some opinions as right now I've got $5000 to put towards this and I've tried calling Henry but never answers his phone and doesn't return calls so please guys feel free to jump in and point me in the right direction. Also saw a 4g93t engine on eBay for sale priced $800 but needs new head gasket and looks like engine only. Is this a better direction to go in and hard would it be to find the rest for the transplant

The 4G93T on ebay with the blown head gasket is the CC variant, so it's the wrong orientation for a CE.

Having said that, you could buy a Evo6 halfcut for around $4-5k, which would be infinitely better than a 4G15T.

If I had a budget of $5k and I was going to do the same thing as you, I'd definitely hold out for a an Evo or GSR halfcut. You'll make a lot more power, you'll get front brakes, your engine will probably last longer and you'll find it easier to sell/part out if it ever comes to that.

Oh and you'll end up spending the same amount of money to do so.

RPW are rip offs. They seem to charge a fortune for stuff. You could swap in a g93 and turbo that for that price if you read up on it. There's a thread here about how to turbo your car. Most expensive thing I've found with wanting to turbo a g15 is the ECU, all other parts aren't that expensive (unless you're building for big boost).

The RPW quote would be using all their gear too, so $2000 or so of that quote would be just for turbo/manifold/front pipe. You can get a cheap turbo & manifold off ebay for under $1000. Front pipe wouldn't be too much to fab up by an exhaust shop. Injectors and fuel pump is another couple of hundred. Cooler and piping again another couple of hundred.

It'll take a fair bit of hunting around as there doesn't seem to be many places that do turbo kits for the g15, so you'll have to piece it together yourself, but it can be done for a lot less than $7000. Just buy a turbo car if you can't do it for half that much.

Thanks guys I'm looking at Brisbane motor imports and they have half cuts and conversion packages so will give them a call. Ideally I just want the engine not after climate control and other upgrades so is it possible just to put the the engine in with changing anything else on the car as upgraded the front brakes to 276mm and suspension as well thanks guys

You'll need all the matching looms and ecu and key barrel and heaps of other stuff. Climate control while you're at it is no hassle if.uou csn literally swap in everything

So half cut is what's needed then. I guess I can put in the climate in to. Thanks guys for all the help will start to hunt down either a cm5a half cut or an Evo 4-6 from BMI. Will give them a call first thing Monday and have a chat with them and will update once I've spoken to them

Evo 4-6 will require a locking kit for the gearbox / diff. Just remember that extra cost

How long can you be without your car???
Have you thought about buying a cg ch cs with a 2.4 no real need to mod more power better interior and newer. Just suggesting another avenue of options. 5k goes a long way with used cars at the moment.

Yeah I took that into account already as I've done some reading on it in other people's build threads. And to be honest I thought about upgrading the whole car but quite fond of the coupe lol but in saying that I might look into this other models thanks guys

Am I correct in thinking that an Evo/GSR engine conversion or any turbo conversion will needed to be engineered for it to be road legal?
