Seeking EOI for a new Forum Moderator AND State Coordinators

Re: Seeking EOI for a new Forum Moderator

i dont think we need mods, as we have 3 or 4 already and i have only seen one of them be active in months. is there a real need

go ryan.......

Re: Seeking EOI for a new Forum Moderator

We don't need a mod in every state (states like SA/TAS/NT/Canberra[would be covered by NSW anyway] and possibly WA), but states like VIC who have a growing member base do need a mod (term used lightly to represent a 'leader' as such within the state). I think ryan has already said his point in the first post? Two individuals from two different states other then queensland. IMO a mod is someone to lead the state, yes they have forum administrative powers in the form of post editing, but their main job would be helping the state etc. And for whatever reason a mod goes awol or w/e and decides to ban the entire forum base, thats were admins step in and fix it?

Re: Seeking EOI for a new Forum Moderator

i agree they need to be an active memeber on here and been here for awhile as to know how this forum has been run

I don't want it to be about personalities.. just get off this notion that we have to have one in every state.. then they just infight and *mum*... happened elsewhere...

Point I was trying to make, is have an ONLINE Moderator and a Real Life Convener... Why does a person organising a run need to be able to prune posts etc... isn't that what our Mod Team do, irrespective of location?

Yes, we need more active mods, but we can easily have people who look after runs...
i agree with Tryg here. a mod should be there to clean up the threads and help rally up the troops.
their can be event/cruise organizers.
like on fordxr6turbo.com they have moderators and then they have event organizers.
as you will see here Sam cleans out our threads but he isn't normally the event organizer.

Re: Seeking EOI for a new Forum Moderator

Hold your horses....I've been at Uni all day and only just had a chance to chat to Dave now about it.

But in general whilst I am atm against having a State Convener for every state and then duplicating with moderator positions as well (with current member levels I am concerned it leads into too many chiefs and not enough Indians), if you all want your own separate convener up in Qld well then you're it Tryg!

Re: Seeking EOI for a new Forum Moderator

I think the event organisers are a good idea..mods can focus on the site while the event managers organize and round up the numbers

who may this be?

Im on here usually once a day, if not every second day.

Ive set up TNT nights, I've set up cruises, lunch get togethers... and Tryg organized the last one I was on.

So what are you guys saying?

Re: Seeking EOI for a new Forum Moderator

Yeah there's Dave, Ryan and you that are active, none of the others seem to visit very often

FWIW, stop hiding your online presence mate.. Mods should be seen more.. not fly-through, prune some stuff and go...

Similarly, you also perpetuated the nonsense about where Mods need to be located (saying we might need another in QLD in the future), this is bollocks and makes no sense...

I think we need more mods, but not my call. I just don't understand the need to have them located in certain places... you, even as a QLD-located Moderator, assist all members, regardless of their location right?!

If people want to organise runs, why do they need to be a mod? I organised a run, so can anyone else, we can organise many things without the need to prune posts... let's not worry about how many mods live where..

That was my point.

Tryg, you spoke to me about this before I went to USA, and its not or anyone to tell me how I should visit the site. Everyone knows who I am, they have me on msn and there is also a PM function on the forum.

The mods limits on this forum are very limited and its Ryans call. So take it up with him champ!

And since when did I say you need to be a mod to organize a cruise? You did one yourself, and a it was a good job. so lets work together now against each other!

Re: Seeking EOI for a new Forum Moderator

There are many ways to get in contact with the mod/admin team:
Post a thread
PM (which leads to an email being sent to us, most of whom I am going to presume have apple/android smart phones so the email should actually vibrate our very being).
Email
Facebook

Just because someone is not "online" does not mean we cannot be contacted. And if someone chooses not to contact us simply because we are not online it can't have been that important to begin with. End of story.

You were given the opportunity to get off the soapbox and be a part of the team Tryg, from what I can see you have turned that position down. It seems you don't want to put into practice what you are preaching, so I am going to ask you to refrain from commenting in this thread any further. If I am wrong please feel free to correct me via PM and I will edit my post accordingly.
EDIT:
Note: I am not trying to "silence" you, but we tried to implement part of what you actually suggested. I worded the above post poorly.

We listened to what was being said by you, our member base and acted accordingly. We know what you are saying, and to act as quickly as we did to implement it should tell you that we value your suggestions. But then to repeat yourself again and again, even after action has been taken is counter productive to what this thread was trying to achieve in the first place - all it is doing is taking the thread off topic.

sam he is saying you are the active one.

I do agree with tryg, mod don't have to be in a state they can be all in Africa if they want they only control the web site. Any memeber can organise cruises and events
