Rough Idle After Service?

Checked under bonnet with car at idle after service, engine was , how can I put it! wobbling about more than usual. Took it back to dealers. Mechanic claimed couldn't see anything wrong, it was normal, checked with new car and new car was marginally smoother, he claimed no different. While driving no noticeable difference Decided to leave it at that and maybe get my mechanic to look at it.

Next day started it up looked under bonnet everything smooth and normal, let it warm up, everything normal!
Wandering, as only thing changed was oil and filter, if perhaps sufficient oil pressure didn't get back to something like a valve lifter, or perhaps something else and then corrected itself.

Any suggestions?

Hard to say without the car in front of us . They may have cleaned the air mass meter causing the idle to have to find it's way again. Keep an eye on it.

No idea what would cause your issues, as suggested above perhaps they have cleaned the MAF or even done some sort of ECU reset.

As for your worry of oil pressure not finding it's way back to a lifter, well you need not worry because there are no hydraulic lifters in the 4B11/12 motors. They use a bucket and shim system whereby the cam is directly actuating the valves.

The MIVEC system does use oil, but you'd throw a CEL and error codes if that was the problem. If you have been following the recommended intervals then you shouldn't have any issues with oil galleys being blocked...

Thanks Ryan and frosty7, services done as required by dealer, this the 2nd with just 4,887ks on the clock. Since service was done, have received this EMAIL asking me to contact them as follows

"On behalf of the ------------ Mitsubishi Service Department, thank you for choosing us as your preferred Mitsubishi authorised service centre.

It is my personal goal to ensure the service you receive from ---------- Mitsubishi is a “Completely Satisfied” experience every time you visit us. If for any reason your experience was anything less, I encourage you to contact me immediately.

You may be contacted shortly by Mitsubishi Australia to complete a survey on your recent visit to ------------ Mitsubishi. The survey is a global tool used to gather important customer satisfaction data and measure our performance. I kindly request you take the time to answer the questions, as this feedback is important to my ongoing development.

I look forward to seeing you and your Mitsubishi again soon. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me should you wish to discuss anything further."

A day or two later, I received a phone call from ------------ Mitsubishi asking much the same questions. I took up my return and complaint, after last service with her and my concern with the motor running rough, plus a couple of other ongoing issues that have not yet been fully resolved.

I recon car is idling as was before so hopefully all last service issues resolved, will have a closer look at things today and have a peep under car to make sure nothing else is astray or missing.
May be its just me? but! Is the above excellent follow up to a complaint, coincidence due to expected Mitsubishi Aus: follow up, or need I worry about something that happened that shouldn't have. I have 3 more services (free) to go with them.

My local Holden dealer did the same after my car had gone in for a service. I suppose it's more about wanting to make sure that people are happy and keep coming back and paying them top dollar for their servicing...

If that was their reason, then they are certainly not on the ball and are wasting their time, because I am committed due to inclusion on purchase to take my car back to them, for the next three services which are also free.
