Hey guys Iv bought myself a piggy back ecu for my ch lancer. I'm pretty sure it has the 4G69 motor , however when I whent to install it I had no luck finding the IAT sensor so I figured it must be built into the MAS airflow sensor. I now have absolutely no idea how to put this thing in and was wondering if anybody knew which wires it has to be spliced into or weather it is a waist of time. Ps I'm also looking for other ideas for mods , I already have king springs and an exaust. Thank you !

an introduction would help.
a name and model of the "proformance' chip would help
a picture of it and the wiring loom would help
knowing what car you have would help

welcome though. we need some proper information to help out....i think this is out of your league

Not being rude but if your "pretty sure its a 4G69" and " absolutely no idea" maybe doing it diy on a piggy back ecu its not somethuing you should be tackling your self and best left to the pro's.
You say performance chip, if its one of those said chips you get off ebay promising 20+kw's you just wire it in no problem, go throw it in the bin there a waste of time and do zero to your car.

I googled pro-formance chips and nothing came up so I'm a bit concerned it's one of those $20 ebay chips that guarantee 40+kw. And what car did you buy it for? You say you think it's a 4g69, but CHs also came with 4g94s... and this is critical in buying these type parts for your car. If it is a true performance chip or piggy back ECU (note, they are two different things) then they are not a universal item and will need to know the exact details of the engine in your car to be able to adjust the specifics.

I like to think I am pretty well versed in performance parts for the CH 2.4lt mivec Lancers and if your car happens to have the mivec name under the front indicator then you indeed have the 2.4lt...
onto the bad news there is no working performance chip for the above engine to get some sort of aftermarket thing to give your car more power you need to spend at least $700 on the part and then a further $500 on tuning it... plus you need to spend money performance mods

I have done a few mods to my car exhaust intake throttle body under crank pulley etc and I have not had to use a piggy back for my car yet and my car has over 140hpatw the next lot of mods that I do to the car will require me to get a AM piggy back

Look on Ebay and keep an eye out for a Haltech interceptor these are by far one of the more better ones to use

Thank you chowetime i greatly appreciate the help , it was off eBay so I'll chuck it, does anybody have a ruff idea of how the are wired ? So I can tell the seller it did nothing and was crap ? Thank you everyone for your help :)

...Not with out some details of what it is :wtf:
-Link to an ebay page
-model name so we can google it
-a picture of it

lol, just any kind of hint of what it is you have bought

the problem with disputing those things, is that it's very hard to "prove" that it provided no gains. try just filing a paypal not as described dispute, hope you didn't spend much on it.

I saw a write up couple of years back on these things where they got a bunch of em and pulled em apart and there was nothing in there except wire a insulation and the even said a couple of them ran the risk of shorting out or catching fire.

you could just for giggles tell the seller that you took it to your mechanic (proffessional advice) and he said that it was not possible to make it work and not possible to fit...
Do not pull it apart as that will void any warranty refund etc

you will aslo find that Ebay rules in Australia do state that you are eligeable for a refund if the product does not do as described...

I just had a good look at my car and found it won't fit even if it is any good, my engine is a 2.0 L 4G94 , and it's a CS , I feel like a *Richard* now :p

Opened up the chip today to find it was just simply full of hot glue and a resistor to connect both of the wires :/ feallin really ripped off

Id be asking em for a refund or youll report there shody was to ebay take a picture of the opened box and send it to em , youll prob find they just give you your money back so they dont get any hassles from ebay.

open a paypal dispute with not as described as your reasoning, state your findings, should be an option to upload a jpeg of the device as supporting evidence and see what happens. you should win, paypal almost always rules in favour of the buyer, sometimes annoyingly so.

wow, i hope you didnt spend too much...
its honestly agravating how those ebay "chips" are still around along with other junk on ebay that would basically be called legal scamming

excellent... good ting with these forums you can get some really good useful info about how to get the most out of your engine
