gauges on coupe

hey guys,

i got a lancer ce II coupe mr 2001,

just curious, ive always liked cars that have aftermarket gauges, and have wanted to put them on the car,

just pointless things like volts, or water or something like that,

i just like the look of the lights on at night

is it difficult to hook them up, has anyone got any pointers or info on it

bonnet gauges are all the rage man but i would suggest mounting them like now to avoid being a "wannabe"....

If you want volts then consider this Stinger digital one:

~$60 IIRC and good quality, I personally have on in my car...

google install instructions altho its fairly straight forward, as far as i can remember, volt either attaches to ur battery or alternator, and water needs an adaptor which is put on the top hose of the radiator (cut into the hose and put the addaptor on) then run the sender into the adaptor

oil pressure, and oil temp both need an oil sandwich plate, and a shorter filter to work with CE's and the senders get screwed into the sandwich plate
AFR (air fuel ratio) is wired to power as usual then tapped into the 02 sensor on the ECU loom

and thats about it... choose ur gauges carefully and mount them well, u wnat to make the interior look cool with them obviously so a clean install is a must

I only have the volt meter so I can keep an eye on the battery levels when the car is off because my stereo drains it fairly quickly. Otherwise really what gauges does the average driver need?

I miss not having a tacho, and possibly a proper water temp. Im always dubious about the factory ones.

thnks guys,

hopefully buy some in 2weeks then install them, definitely gonna get the volts, cause of my system, n prob oil and water,

keep in mind that the addaptors for both water temp and oil gauges DONT come with the gauges generally

hens performance sells sandwich plates for adapting the oil sensors for the gauges, i think i got mine for aboot ~$30+post
i think henry can also supply the right size water pipe adaptor fitting aswell for around the same

just letting u kno ur up for extra ~$60 in fittings after u buys the gauges which will be about $150++ for a 3 set, then needing a bracket or gauge-pod etc which is about $15-30

all up if you do the labour yourself your looking at ~$225 minimum and thats on a budget setup

mmmm... Probably don't need anything more than volts and maybe oil pressure... but, I like them all !!

Especially being able to watch what heat does to AFR... but I must be a nerd.

FKN OBDII guages lol

1 day there will be OBDI guages

Already been done... do some looking around. It's just not packaged up as neatly or simply as mine. Is entirely possible.
