Gauge Dials Not Working?

Hey guys,

So the other day I took off my speedo in order to change the clusters, I put everything back the same way I got it off but now the Dials arn't working.
So I can't tell Speed, Revs, Fuel and Temp.

The Temp. and Fuel Gauges just jump to the top if I turn on the ignition, and the revs and speedo don't move. Tested the speedo by driving the car and it wasn't working.

At first I thought it was a fuse problem checked that, no luck, then I checked the wiring connected to the dials, no luck and then I unplugged the battery to reset everything and still no luck.

Any ideas guys? Is it possibly the dials are not connected to there spot properly or something else?

Any ideas are helpful cheers guys!

this is going to sound silly and you most likely have done this but have you made sure that you have all the screws in nothing lleft over- and you have made sure that when you reinstalled the cluster back into the car that you have them plugged into the correct location and that the plugs are in nice and firmly (making a good connection)...

I have never heard of any problems like you have described as it is a basc simple swap and should not pose any problems... good luck with fixing this, please let us know how you fixed or what happened

I did check that the lights are all working just dandy its just the dials that aren't so I am completely dumbfounded as to what the problem is. Plugs are all in nice and in the right spot, had my electrician mate come round to have a look and he was confused as well to what it may be after testing nearly everything, he recommended an auto electrician. But obviously that is the last resort due to it being costly.

Cheers for the suggestion though.

if you have to get a auto sparky to look at it I would sooner go find a whole new gauge cluster will be cheaper in the end a new/cluster from ebauy is under $100

If everything was working fine before you pulled it apart, then something hasn't gone back together properly...

Anything that you had apart, pull it apart again and check it carefully: Look closely at all the plugs & sockets, ensure that a pin hasn't been pushed out of the plastic of the plug/socket.
-If your unsure, take a couple pictures and post up.
