Hey guys, so I am looking into getting a cat back exhaust system for my 03 CG 2.0L so any tips?
I am a noob when it comes to this sort of stuff so any help is appreciated!

I'm also thinking along those lines, and have the same car :D

Yeah, any help would be very good! :)

I've heard a 2 1/4 inch exhaust is the way to go, but I could be wrong.

If you're going to be doing power mods such as turbos go 2.5" (but you're barely a p plater). 2.25" is the best size for flow/power gain in stock lancers. If you go dual exhaust, 2.25" split into 2" from the mufflers back. And please don't get a cannon :(

HKS are alright, but I just buy SCA tips and get them welded on. Looks good enough to me :p

Magnaflow are decent, brands like lukey also have a good rep.

The common consensus on here is that on a 1.8/2L a 2.25" exhaust is a good note, improves performance and isn't drone-y. Anything larger and there is no point, anything small and you might as well just get a new muffler for the noise.

For me induction noise is better, I had the pod filter, but then changed to a high flow filter and modded my intake pipe to give it a throatier sound. Doesn't drone whilst cruising, but sounds epic when accelerating ;)

All of these tips actually help,

I was thinking a 2.25" exhaust so now I have to go and find an exhaust shops and grab some prices for installs and what not.

Cheers that actually enlightened me a bit more on what to look for and get.

make sure you get MANDREL bends, not PRESS bent, press = cheap and lame, mandrel = flow and performance

2.25" is good size, i would recomend a nice twin tip oval muffler mounted up nice and neat in the exhuast cutout not saggy hanging down
