hi everyone, im new to Auslancer. I own a white 98 Ce Lancer. And looking through this forum has gave me a few ideas on what i want to do with my car. I've just changed the rims to 15's nothing to extreme and just changed the steering wheel. Currently getting an evo 5 front and mr side skirts and evo 5/6 rear lip and evo 6 spoiler and wanting to get an exhaust for the car. So making an Fevo to one day own an Evo :D

But at the moment Im currently wanting to put an alarm system on my car since it doesnt have one and doesnt even have central locking. Just wondering what alarm would be the best for my lancer?

welcome to the site, you should put up a ride thread so we can get a better idea of your car.

It depends on the amount of money you can spend. I personnely run with a viper alarm with RRp's for around 600 last i checked, comes with all sensors and central locking plus AUX buttons to add funtions like remote start, headlights, sterio.... and so on.

yeah i wouldnt mind having a viper alarm but dont know if i could afford one, im a poor uni student . There is a Viper alarm currently on ebay Viper 650XV Car Alarm System and priced for $175. Do you think its worth the price??
 
Find out what it has included in the box.
Vipers are a very good alarm. If its got everything you want then 175 sounds pretty good
 
Are you going to install yourself? If you are getting an auto-elec to do it, might pay to get some advice from them about the system first....
 
yeah its probably best if i get it professionally installed since I dont know that much about cars, but i could always try. I might just look around a bit more to find one for a good price. There is this place in Adelaide called Tisonics that provide and install car alarms i think for $200-$300, i'm not to sure if they have stores in other states though. So might give them a ring sometime to see what they have and an exact price.
 
I wonder if $200 includes central locking actuators or just the immobiliser/alarm ?

yeh, iv seen a few kits at autobarn/super cheap that have all that
i got my genuine mitsi one (cause i wanted the tri diamond unlocker) off ebay for $61 and installed myself
 
I used a eBay one in my lancer, was about $50 and didn't have any problems with it aside from the terrible wiring diagram lol
