Is your car throwing out any codes ? Or haven’t you had it checked yet ?
You said it revs to 2000 rpm and that’s all, so will car rev to more than 2000 rpmit ?
It could be a tranny fluid issue or low fluid, if your lucky it will be a code # PO725, I think that’s a code for when engine speed and tranny doesn’t sync via can bus error, which possibly also cause this problem to happen.
CVT’s are known to have problems with the transmissions, especially if service hasn’t been kept up especially fluid changes, but seriously you need to check for codes and take it to a auto tranny specialist, if it a major problem you will be looking at big money.
