Now going under the logic that I still know nothing (virtually) about the engine under my bonnet apart from the fact it goes choo choo and makes my giddy.
There are few things that Id like clarification on regarding timing belt and what parts are required for a 100,000km swap (or later i guess) and whats not as required (as this can be an expensive maintenance job being quoted upwards of $4k)
Meek sell timing belt kits, but is this everything you need?
Genuine Timing Belt Kit - EVO4-9
The kit includes:
- 2 x Genuine Timing Belts (Main & Balancer)
- 3 x Genuine Timing Belt Pulleys
- 5 x Genuine High-Temp Seals

Is it worth doing the following or are they not required? Im not too sure what parts degrade over that 100,000km period and what parts generally hold up fine.
Genuine Tensioner, Alternator Drive Belt EVO4-6

Genuine Timing Belt Bearings (Idler, Main, Balancer belt) - EVO4-6

Genuine Timing Belt Tensioner to suit EVO4-6.

Naturally all fuilds and gaskets should be changed but what else?
A friend just picked up a E6 and its at the 114k mark with no service history so he's in the process of the 100,000km service and turned to me as the 'expert' ahahahahha, noob.
May seem like a silly question to you mechanical folk, but im trying to expand my knowledge on all this
