Replacing a CH Lancer Radio?

The stock Radio for this thing sucks! Was wondering if there were any tutorials on how to replace this radio? Or should I leave it to a professional.

Very simple to do...it was my first mod/DIY ever. Don't waste money on a professional unless you are absolutely clueless on working with cars and/or electrical wires. It is really matter of plug and play - simple.

There is a DIY here on how to do this, thanks to Skippy. viewtopic.php?f=42&t=1384
Remember to remove the negative/ground (black) battery terminal first but.

Thanks for your reply. Do I need to do any cutting with the wires? Or just I just plug everything in to my new aftermarket radio and seal everything up? Or does the Lancer have a specific power output so I don't have to do that.

I went into super cheap and grabbed 2 packs called aeropro. one set goes from the Mitsubishi then the other goes from the new head deck. You then join them together. (they come in brand specific packs - jvc, sony and so on)

Are you talking about radios? :p

Nah, he's talking about Male and Female adapter plugs :) If you go into Supercheap or Autobarn or AutoOne in the radio section they have adapting plugs. I can't remember which ones Male or Female, but one will say adapter for Kenwood/Pioneer (or whatever your brand of radio is) and another pack will say adapter to suit Mitsubishi. The 2 adapter plugs plug into each other and the radio pack one will also plug into your headunit and the car pack one will also plug into your car :)
