Purchasing CCFL projector headlights

I have decided to purchase some CCFL angel eye projector headlights for my 2004 Lancer ES and have looked through eBay numerous times but only found US sellers that only sell LHD compatible headlights (which are illegal for RHD cars).

I have recently found one seller in Melbourne but they cost $550 compared to overseas ones that only cost $300. Surely there are other places around Australia or even overseas that sell RHD CCFL headlights.

Any information would help

Ive decided to say welcome to the forum, hows that sound?
Iam sure you'll get more responses in helping you save your self some cash with a Hello, please and a thank you.

Ill try to be more polite in the future :) just this problem is really annoying and i am eager to get my lights

Thankyou

Have you thought about retrofitting? Would be cheaper with much better results
Plus a great learning experience

Otherwise you may have to just put up with the $600 price tag
(and hope the 600 ones are suited to rhd)

I actually have no idea what retrofitting is, sorry, I'm a bit of a rookie. That's why I'm just looking to buy some because I should be able to just handle a straight replacement.

What is retrofitting anyway?

Thanks

retrofitting means taking apart your original headlights, and replacing the bulbs with halo projectors. the up side is you save alot of money, the down side is, its hard to get them perfect.

even though im a sparkie, i cbf playing around with beam direction etc, and if i was to do 1 thing wrong it could have cost me a new projector/casing. so i chose the $600 price tag. i gotta admit, it is great quality, but it depends where you buy from. cheaper does not mean you are winning.

this is the guy i bought from, i've linked what he sells for ES lancer, and he also does RHD.

Hmmmm sounds complicated, thanks for the explination though :)

Ive looked through this guys stuff and i contacted him about the headlights i wanted but no RHD left (just my luck), any other places/suppliers you know?

nah sorry, i wouldnt reccommend anyone else for money like that if i didnt know the quality was there..
just keep hitting him up. he should be able to make some

Ended up buying both taillights and headlights from Mars Performance in Clayton, Melb. Great quality and fit perfectly, deff recommend.

Will do ;)

One last question though, do I have to adjust the headlights in any way? Is there a way to adjust the beam angle?

Thanks

Google how to align headlights.

There are heaps of picture people have drawn up which explains what the cutoff looks like. It's hard to explain, but easy to see.

To adjust those headlights there are 2 screws on the back of the headlight one on the top left and one on the bottom right (looking at the front of the right headlight) :)
I only know because i bought the LHD headlights and was blinding everyone :S angle them down and put a set of hid's in and havent been flashed or pulled over yet =]
Good luck with it!!

ps. you may need a right agle screwdriver adaptor thingy to adjust the lights due to lack of space...

Ahk yeh found the screws, I got LHD ones aswell so I need to adjust them, I popped in 6500k bulbs, hopefully won't blind people :p Thanks mate

Projector headlights with angel eyes, 6500K bulbs

Getting the bumper off was tricky, apparantly the previous owner decided to put screws where there werent supposed to be screws, but the lights fit like a glove

Found the screws (failed roadworthy as one was pointing at the stars - have the same issue as above)..... I am turning screws - BOTH (lol) and nothing is happening. Could I have dodgy lights? Which screw adjusts what? I assume top = low beam and bottom = high. Going to try again and will screw them around more..... At least I got part of it right without reading :)
