Hey Dopey, I know this is a very long response, but I wanted to say VERY NICE write up indeed. I had to do this about 2 years ago and found this thread, it worked first time. I actually couldn't believe it. When I first read the info you had shared, I thought to myself... pffffttttt this sounds like hes having a laugh with us, as if doing the steps you had mentioned would actually work. I had nothing to loose so I gave it a crack. BOOOM it worked first time like a treat. I totally forgot to thank you for the info. You really saved my backside the day I needed it. I was stuck at a petrol station and the alarm had activated so my horn was cutting sick at 7 in the morning with everyone staring at me. hahahah my initial reaction was pull the horns fuse out. Once doing abit of research I came across this thread and bobs ya uncle it worked many thanks.
The reason I remember finally to thank you was because I couldn't remember the steps fully and had to dig this thread up again to program the key fob to my lancer. THANKS BUDDY !!!!
this is how to program the factory remote on a CE lancer or mirage, i've taken this striaght from the factory install manual
Procedure (with at least 1 functional transmitter)
a. Ensure a door is open.
b. Arm then disarm the system.
c. Within 20 seconds of disarming, turn the ignition key from the "OFF" position to the "ACC" position 20 times leaving the key in the "OFF" position after the twentieth turn.
d. The vehicle's indicators will flash 20 times to indicate sucessful entry.
e. Once the indicators have finished flashing press the lock button (channel 1) on each of the transmitters you wish to program.
f. Once finished turn the ignition key to the "ACC" position to lock in and exit from programming mode.
Procedure (without transmitters)
a. Ensure a door is open.
b. Disconnect the negative battery cable, wait 5 seconds then reconnect.
NOTE: If the system begins to sound when power is reconnected then proceed to step (c), otherwise go to step (d).
