License Plate Mount

Hey guys. I "Had" a side mounted license plate when I got my CH which also had an AfterMarket kit on it to resemble an EVO.
I had my plates stolen and i'm having a nightmare trying to find something to mount my new plates.
Everything I find on ebay want a fortune for shipping and autobarn can't help either.
Before I have to come to the terms that I'll have to fabricate something is there anything you guys can think of?
Thought i'd mention I can't reach the back of the kit to fit a nut to the back of the bolt either without taking off the whole front bumper.
 
Use one-way theft deterrent screws. Bunning's have them for under $5 or get it free from the cop shop.

That's usually the case.
 
I'll have to look into the theft deterrent screws next time I'm in Bunning's, or the cop shop ;)
I don't park on the street over night and never had this issue.

The most I did was replace them with stainless steal ones and they have never rusted, hate rusty screws on the number plate!
 
I guess any screw you put on won't deter them because they usually just pull the plates off with mighty force - happened to me too :/

So just get an in-car camera fitted. When the car is off, most of them activate the camera when there is movement around and hopefully you can identify the crooks or their cars.
 
Can you isolate the plates and electrify them?

Come out to the car next morning to see a dead crook behind the car :lol:
 
Little bit off topic but did the CH come with different styles of number plate mounts for the front? Mine has the big black plastic block the mounts to the front bar then the plate to that?

It looks crap though and if I take it off there are two big holes where the plugs go to attach it.

If I were a desperate criminal looking to grab some plates, and i struggled for a few minutes with the anti-theft screws, id probably kick my foot into the car.. To me the best bet is to report it as soon as you notice it missing.

OP: you may have to fab up your own bracket by the sounds of things unfortunately

yeah theres the big black block, but if you bend your plate a tad and mount the plate there it covers the big holes 100% when you remove the plastic. first thing i did when i got my ch lol.

Got my plate sorted this arvo. Drilled two holes one bolted it onto the existing plugs in the bar. Heaps tidier. Gonna order some new plates (slim front standard rear) to tidy it up a bit more.
