Yes, seems like a 'likely excuse' ..... I'm not impressed with the 'Wildcat' collectors that form the extractors, with the 'Hurricane' design look''n like better torque producing longer twin-pipes before joining.
Otherwise there's a Malaysian based race development lot producing a SS header but not for the 4G94..... suggesting an 'extension' of the 2-pipes again to clear the engine sump/taller engine BUT it all sounds like too much work & a patch-up job?
$700~$800 just for the 4G94 headers seems excessive????? when the 4G96 extractors can be purchased for $380~$400
