This is a thread I am dedicating to the ever curious mind of Spetz.

The idea is, dust off your stop watches and time exactly how long it takes to do engine swaps, mods etc.

Crumble and I are attempting to set a record time (or time to beat) for the 1.5>1.8 swap this weekend.

Pics or it didn't happen!

And just to make the challenge more interesting Crumble is going for a double record, attempting to achieve the most tinder matches during an engine swap
that'll be like 1 probably even 0

I'm busy after 4 on Saturday too so looks like you'll be alone for awhile :p

A thread dedicated to me? You guys...:relaxed:

I find that using MS Excel to log things, keep track of items, tasks, processes, issues, actual plan, deviated plan etc works wonders for organization, understanding and knowing everything that happens throughout and keeping the mind calm which always results in a better outcome.

I will write a terms and conditions for the 1.5>1.8 swap before I start.

What do you guys think. Start timer, do a lap of the block 1.5 style, do the swap, lap of the block 1.8, stop timer ?

You can run multiple timers.
1. Start to finish
2. Start after donor engine is out to finish
3. Pause during breaks
4. etc etc
Then you can start using excel to make charts for you

Trust Spetz to Spetz up the Spetz thread. One timer will be used!

You are welcome :)

I still think more than 1 timer should be used though. At least time how long it takes to get the motor out out of curiosity versus getting it in

The removal of the 1.5 will be on the clock but the 1.8 coming out might be off clock. I think that's fair, plus it might be done semi intoxicated on the Friday night. ( don't try this at home)

PS. You may have to PM Crumble about the swap location. It's a private workshop which he is employed at. Generally only trusted/ known friends allowed to use it.

I'll do my best to crate some intriguing statistics for you! In the time being, who can do the fastest cup holder swap ?
