Hey can anyone help me out,

Im looking for a CAI system for my 2000 Lancer MR CE2, 1.8L 4g93
I already purchased a pod with the right mount just need all the necessary equipment from the intake manifold to the pod which i am not sure what i need, im guessing just piping? But is there anything else? Water lines, filter or just cables? I am not sure of this so can someone please correct me :)
And i kinda measured the distance between the angled pipe and the edge of my engine bay where the pod filter will sit, it is roughly 9 or 10 inches, so i am looking at a 9 inch pipe plus an angled pipe.

Im thinking of going into supercheap. buying all the necessary equipment and putting it in myself, but yet again do i need to install anything else other than piping and just rip out everything i have atm?
Heres the supercheap products:

Heres a photo of my intake system atm:

Thanks in advance,

If you want to make a custom system then yer all you need is piping really (considering you already have a pod...)

Can I ask where you got the mount for the pod? Mine's similar to yours, using the stock piping into MAF, adapter then the pod but it's not mounted to the bay anywhere

Nah u don't need water lines, lol.

Just piping

You need to remove the airbox and lower resonator or what ever it's called.

Actually its not even mounted.... haha atm i have it secured with some double sided fabric tape so it doesn't rattle, my mechanic is going to make a bracket for me. Ill post results next week if you like or pm you?

grk2meet, how does one take out that anyway? I'm looking to install a CAI myself

And yeah for sure Vince, just PM me once you've got it done!

Im pretty sure all thats removed already, but i did see some sort of water or fuel line coming from block into the angle pipe in another Lancer, just wondering if the pipe needs anything or just a clean slip onto the intake manifold

@tks

lol i got under the car and pulled on it. Broke the clips and everything

@tv

you just need a pipe. The pipe is just for air, nothing else. That box is under the bumper on the right hand side at the wheel.

nah man you dont need fuel or water lines to air intake piping, just goes straight into manifold...
Oh okay thanks for that, i just saw this photo and then noticed the cable running from the top of the rocket cover to the angled piping, maybe a different setup.

You've got one of those, bud

Haha i noticed but it needs to be put into the new CAI piping? Is there a appropriate piping for connecting that cable or do all piping come standard with that?
Im sorry for the inconvenience, first time and trying to learn something new :)

Considering you kept the stock intake piping (that thing that connects to the throttle body) and whatever that pipe is, connects to that right next to the throttle body.. There's literally nothing else you need to do apart from run some sort of piping from the "air intake spot" (behind the foglight I assume?) and to the pod filter. No other wires or anything involved.

semi relevant question, does just piping the cold air to under/next to the pod like that actually do anything? i always assumed it would still suck hot air from the engine bay, and if you want a full cold air intake you'd have to fully seal everything up

The best option is to block the back of the pod with the piping from behind bumper/foglight... Even if you cover it from the top as well leaving only a hole where the hole from the resonators were living and piping up to there...
