CG Lancer gearbox issue - Newby needs help

Hi all,

All my gearbox issues started when I replaced the oil myself. The previous owner never looked after the car so when I bought it I replaced a lot of things myself. I replaced the gearbox oil (recommended oil) but straight after this happened the shifting in gears got worse and 2nd would never slide in smoothly. Then a few months later the clutch slave cylinder died and I seem to have the internal slave cylinder (so stupid), so the gearbox had to come out. While it was out I got the clutch replaced and the flywheel machined. I never got them to look at the gearbox as I assumed the issue was the clutch slave cylinder. Well the issues was not fixed and after 6 months of a crunching in second, I found a second had box and got a gearbox specialist to fit it for me.

The issue is that with the second hand box, I still have VERY similar issues. I am now thinking that it might be a clutch master cylinder issue but the master cylinder isn't leaking or showing much wear. I returned to the car to the gearbox guy a few times but he claims the gearbox is great and nothing is wrong with it. I just think he doesn't to take the box out again at no cost.

The shifting seems worse in winter when it is cold and will crunch most of the time going into second when it has not run in a while.

Any recommendations or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I also took it back to the guy who swapped the box out but he claimed after driving it for 2 days straight that he couldnt find anything wrong with the shifting. (I think he didn't want to take it out again and incur the extra cost)

Thanks

if everything else is in order, it would have to be the master or slave cylinder. Either air in the line or a needing a complete replacement..
good luck :)
