just picked these up today, allegedly the last OEM bows and rails in the country. (these guys are known to talk a little *poo* though). Have penciled in the weekend after Easter to get stuck in and do the roof, properly this time.
any advice will be greatly accepted and appreciated.
Will try to remember to take photos and do a bogans diy for roof restoration.IMG_0019.JPG

Well as it turns out I have not got the time for a DIY but I'll post the pics so far.
Upon inspection (and advice from a panel beater) it was decided that we would not cut out the existing Bows and Rails as they are still in good nick (no matter how much I argued that the glue is the problem not the hardware). The advice was to do the rails in another 4-5 yrs and do a complete new roof skin then as cutting strips out of this one would most definitely warp it. So we stripped it back, drilled out the rust, tack welded the holes, ground the welds and re sanded, as of this evening it sits with a coat of rust converter drying and tomorrow will be Clean off rust converter, Etch prime, sand, bog, sand, fill, sand and plasti dip. will show end result when I can. All that effort to plasti dip?! What happens when the dip wears out?

Definitely paint. Then dip over the top if you must

is a trial to see what its like, just until I can find a body kit and decide on a colour to paint the whole car
