Air Vent Problems

Hi guys,

First post! I'm the owner of 1.5L go kart (mirage)!

Anyway, I have a problem with my air vents not blowing air through the center and the foot setting is also low pressure.
Air comes out really good out the side vents (drivers and passenger).

Also when trying to change where the air blows, the dial turns back one setting when going to fully to the footwell.

Anyone body else had this problem? or anyone got any ideas on how to fix it?

Welcome to the forums. The manual climate control setup in the CE is straight foward. grab a service manual and suss it out. Potentially one of the cables which operates the little door thingys near your fan blower which directs airflow is partially jammed or dislodged. Someone else might have a better idea i havnt had my dash out for 2+ years now i can't really remember what's back there sorry

Has bucket loads of info in it, including how to pull out your dash and thats what I'd be doing like what Japaneseteabag said.
Once you've got the dash out you'll be able to see the cables and see whats not working, removal should only take 30mins or so.

Sounds like the cable has a kink in it,
very common issue with CE's.

There are some mounts that the cable is supposed to lay in to offer tension when turning the dials but the cable often jumps out causing one of the ends to compress and kink.
If you wanted to be super lazy you can access everything through the AC facia so you dont need to take the dash out.
Iv replaced about 3 of these cables so far (all diff lancers).
Cable cost me about $4 from the wreckers and took me about 15min to replace (first time took over an hour because I was not aided with beer)

Hi guys,

Yup! i found the problems, I guess similar to what Cesairo was saying, cable had a kink in it.

Looked like this


Used my finger to push it in and made it straight.

Also one of the leavers come off its track. easily accessible!

Good stuff mate,
When I fixed mine up the first time it stayed good for a little bit but mine had a bit more of a severe kink and couldnt hold the tension and kept kinking back up.
If that does happen just replace it, but if it stays good just call it a day
