2.4L Jerky-ness

Hi guys.

I've spoken about this with Slee a bit.

I've got this thing in my 2.4L MIVEC where I'll be driving in 1st or 2nd gear and ill maintain the revvs at lets say 3000rpm.
However, the car will then start to do this little bunny hop type maneuver.
It does it especially in 1st, but also in 2nd when the car isn't fully warmed up.

I've also noticed that it will do a little jerk or two when i take my foot off the accelerator at 4000rpm + and then jolts a few times when it lowers back to around 2000rpm.

Anyone else got this in their CH?

Slee and I both think it's something to do with the Air Flow Meter but I want to see what others think.

I would have to agree have a look at the air flow meter but be very careful when you remove it the wire that goes into the intake is delicate I suspect it just needs a clean use a contact cleaner and see how it goes.
Could also have a look at the the O2 sensor.

I've asked my father about it also as he owned the car since new.

He said it's always been like it.

I'm guessing faulty AFM's from factory perhaps?

I haven't seen that, but when taking off, 1st or 2nd gear, 1000-2000 RPM, seems to be a lag/kink. The car will struggle, accelerating weakly (sounds normal, feels slow) then suddenly will return to normal.

That's because MIVEC hasn't kicked in yet, yo!

Naa, in all seriousness, there is sweet f&%k all power at those revvs.
It's kinda like it wants to stall.

UPDATE: I've cleaned my AFM with no luck.
Still hops.

Mine hops around like a rabbit on roids. Due to clutch and flywheel being used and abused by previous female owner. Need to replace/upgrade but that's the source of my jumping if that helps.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure my clutch is *fudge*ed so that might be it.
My father, the first owner of the car, said it does it anyway.

Clutch slip or needs new plugs and it miss fires on low rpm

Coil packs depending on kms of car as well

Car only had 130 000kms on it.
I've only ever had the clutch slip once or twice, if it was what I thought it was.
Wasn't sure if the tyres spun and was quiet.

does the problem occur when warmed up though? My 69 does a similar thing cold and i think its probably just part of the warmup. The throttle is drive by wire and quite sensitive you may also need to check the pedal sensor adjustment.(scan tool required though)
