M = Carby, H = EFI, S = EFI TURBO (Engine ID)
2 = 2DR, 4 = 4DR (Body ID)
# = ? (i've only seen a "1" in this spot, so it could be in relation to the above number or below letter)
N = 1992, P = 1993, R = 1994, S = 1995 (Built Year)
J = Japan MMC Prod, A = Adelaide (Assembly Plant Code)

hi i have
jmfcc6h41rj######

using the above guide i got the following :

model car: cc
1.8 auto efi
4 door sedan
1994

is this correct? probally dumbest question ever as guide is very detailed.

yep thats right so knowing what you know about your car you should already know what kind of motor it is (check the egnie block a 1.8 should read 4g93 XX####

for example my 4g93T is 4g93 al1350 and my sohc is 4g93 db0444

4g93 is the engine number for a 1.8l from a lancer, both orientations. 4g15 is for a 1.5l engine.

You should also know this easily for CC models because the 1.8 is always EFI and the 1.5 is always a carby. If you don't have a big fat carburetor sitting on top of your engine, you have a 1.8l.

that just tells you it's a 1.8l i don't believe the letters mean anything ( just gaves them 26^26 extra numbers they can use ie there's 10000 engine out there that have the letter prefix AA and 260000 engine that have an engine number with A as the first letter, 260000 with b as the first etc etc

so assuming the above is correct my 4g93t was the 111350 engine block off the production line assuming block where stamped prior to final assembly and designation

well this is my engine bay

16 valve silver head.

so i im pretty sure i have a 1.8l
mad :) as you guys have said about the 4g93 engine no

pretty stock looking but ive only had this cc lancer since 28th of jan

an its my first car buy an it only has 153,000ks on the odometer
i do plan on upgrading / moding this car over time an im sure ill make a few posts over time

Yep you have a 1.8 SOHC EFI engine. 86kW of pure and unadulterated fury, weooooo.

There are a couple DIY's up in the CC section if you want to do some minor stuff, otherwise myself, leadfoot and Mikey (EVL20T) are the "CC Guru's" I guess, for lack of a better word.

I will be adding another 5 or so DIY's in the next month or two so they might help you out.

cheers mate love
learning about this car
as i said this is my first car ive owned an slowly getting more insight onto it like engine etc
starting to feel less noob about owning this thing haha..

an i will be looking into those diy's :)

noticed my assembly plant code is A, I have already ordered my southern cross stickers and Australian flags for my windows.

^^^ been slowly working on that old girl for my daughter's 1st ride. Should be finished in a month or 2.
Then I get to start on my 5H41SJ. Got nearly everything ready except a good shell...
Any leads on a straight 1 in bris area would be appreciated :)

Hi there, I have a 1992 lancer

can anyone help identify what this vin says the vehicle should have? It has failed a wof (NZ) for needing a certification for the turbo, but I’m pretty sure it’s a 4g93t.

the vin number is 7A1LH9Z41NP000198
The engine number on the block is 4g93 dp6627

there is no seperate chassis number or anything only a seperate engine number which is AM9759

does all this add up?
