Hey Everyone. I've recently had a 2004 Lancer fall into my lap and since I've always wanted one, I really want to "do it up". I've always loved cars, but never really done much besides put a cold air intake in my old VX commodore and a few other very small things, but that was over a million years ago.
Really want to learn how to fit this thing with a body kit, repaint it, do some mechanical work - nothing too major though, though will see how I go... wouldn't mind completely rebuilding the engine but that's probably waaaay out of my league. All in all, I just want to make it a really nice looking and well performing car that I can say "I did that".

I got the car for free, and in it's current state: It starts most of the time and some of the rims even match! (It's seen better days...). It's not my main mode of transport, mainly a hobby that I've always wanted to pursue, and there's no time like the present!
Currently just putting together a lot of info. ie: What I can and cannot do myself, where to get stuff, what stuff to get, how much stuff to get and how much it's going to destroy my poor ole bank account - That sort of thing.

Photo of my little sun-bleached box of bolts below. Can't wait to make her shine again. :)

Hope to lean on this forums years of expertise and eventually add my own experiences to it!

Thanks very much.

Welcome NeilVS to auslancer, the beast looks pretty good for the price so you have no excuses not to start the mods soon.
Plenty of good advice on any mods your thinking, just ask away.

Cheers man. First up, I'm just gonna make it -reliable-. Also got new instrument cluster on the way, some other stuff as well just to tinker with it. Looking forward to transforming it into a cool little car.
