Cluster with Tacho wiring

Pin 58 on the small ecu plug is the tach signal. Run a cable from there to the tach signal on the back of the cluster.
Then just run a cable from the tacho earth screw to some bare metal behind the cluster.

Alternatively, if you have an MR dash loom installed all you need to do is run 2 short cables from pins 58 and tach earth(will be 57 or 59, can't remember) to the start of the MR loom.

Use the search bar to find the ecu pinout diagram to locate the two pins for tacho signal/earth.
Hi I’ve been following this page and I’m trying to wire mr cluster tako to ce mirage I can see the tako earth but wire do I run the wire from pin 58(where would the tach signal be?

tach sig is the shortest trace just below or above tach earth (with a screw going to the trace circle thingy) (definitely the 3rd wire from the top of the side with tach earth, assuming 4th wire is tach earth)

Can someone please attach pictures of this resistor and where it goes etc? Having a hard time getting my mates lancer going with a tacho. Everything works expect for that.

Getting like 0.3 to 0.1v when revving the car on pin 58

Check that you have the correct number on the back of the cluster for the engine and ecu. Use the tacho output. If it don't work try the crankshaft output. If that don't work you gotta pull up or pull down which is literally soldering a resistor between the output and a 5v,12v, ground (depending) and then grabbing the signal from one of the sides (i cant remember which)

Is there a guide anywhere that showcases this? Im brand brand new to this. Only ever worked on imprezas.

Itll be a big number with a circle around it. And search the forums for what number you need for your engine. If i remembered i would say but i don't. Ps ensure all the screws are present on the pcb and ensure no hairline cracks

so have u run two wires? pretty much for the tacho to work u need a source (from the ecu, pin 58) and an earth, which i know can be found on the ecu on pin59 i think (dont quote me) or just run it to any earth point on the car.if you want ill post a pic of exactly what i did with my car to get it to work
Hi do you have a diagram or pics of this as I'm trying to find it myself

Hey
Sorry for the late reply

but its all wired up and working now. Me and a friend managed to get it working. the RPM signal is pin 58 on the ECU. We ran a wire from there to the back of the cluster, and a ground wire to the back of the cluster too.

And started the car and tacho was working :)

It was pretty straight forward and worked first go

Thanks everyone for your replies. :)
Hi mate was wondering what color wire is the pin 58. Where dose the earth wire and the pin 58 wire connect on the back of the cluster do u have a picture or can u tell me please would be really grateful

Sorry for the late reply. Bottom right of this image you see the number 2. This is a tacho-less 1.5L auto cluster.

I used crankshaft pin 89 from ecu run to tacho sig on my tacho cluster (just squished the exposed wire against the pcb using the screw)

Earth was already provided on my connectors which was lucky
