Bypassing Immobilizer

Hi guys, long story short, I lost my keys, replaced ignition barrel and doors, but didn't replace ECU. Need to bypass immobilizer to start the car. Not too fussed about the lack of security by disabling the immobile.

I've read on here that it can be done by swapping pins on the immobilizer (I think it was pins 9 & 21).

Any tutorials out there on this? I've located the ECU, it seems like a pain in the ass to take out tho lol. If anyone can give me the easiest instructions on taking the ECU out, that would be greatly appreciated.

Also is it easy to swap pins on the ECU? Any special tools needed?

Thanks

Swapping the pins doesnt work, its an old wives tale. Its hardcoded into the hexadecimal of the ECU - it needs to be reflashed to disable it.

Well that's a shame, I was really looking forward to trying it today.

What's the process of getting it reflashed? Something I can do on my own? Or do I have to call someone out? Also is it pricey haha

EDIT: Better yet, can I take out the ECU and take it to a shop? I'm in Melbourne, if anyone can direct me to the right place it'd be much appreciate

Anyone with a Tactix cable and a laptop can do it with the right software.

You might be able to find a guy who does road tuning or take your ECU to someone who can do it.

I’m not in Melbourne myself so I’m not sure who can do that kind of work there. @donki might have a lead on that.

Hmmm yeah may have to take the ECU to a shop.

Is there no easy bypass? Re-routing wires perhaps?

Does the immobilizer cut the fuel being sent to the engine?

The Imob is a softcoded hexadecimal code that is coded to the car key and the tuning of the ECU. No swapping of wires will bypass the imob lol. It also depends on if its a CE1 or CE2/3 car, as the ECUs were coded differently and only CE2/3 are able to be rewritten

That said, yes, you can hardwire a new fuel pump/lines to the ignition switch and the fuel rail.
