Wheel and Tyre Question/Information Thread

185/60...i reckon you could get that over a 8.5 pretty easy. might need a baby elephant for it, but should be sweet

Ok yes I am a she...

I am hoping to get the tire onto a 6,5" ... so the tire height would come down to approx ????

Has been a long time since I have done this stuff little rusty on it...

So I have MOR31's old rims obviously now and it's started to scrub on the rear right guard if I corner hard and/or hit a bump... I find this perplexing as I haven't lowered my car. The tyres went from a 185 to a 215 and in total added about an inch in diameter. I have had them aligned and balanced. My only other reason for this occurring is the shocks have probably sagged given their age. Any thoughts ???

It would more than likely be that inch at the bottom of the rear guards that overlaps and would be hitting the tyre when the soft stock shocks compress. Should be able to lip/roll this in and as long as the tyres don't stick out past the guards you shouldn't have a problem.

Id say its ur suspension. My gf's *poo*ty rolla does the same thing on stockies because of the *poo*ty shocks. Get stiffer springs/ shock combo with rolled guards and you'll be all good

Thanks guys not entirely sure exactly on the guard where ita rubbing but yeah the shocks are probably pretty knackered... Just couldn't see why they wouldn't fit

Goto youtube.

If you have a phone book, you can pump your own guards.

most decent tyre shops will either have or know of some1 who does guard rolling. maybe just ring a couple

they look good I would buy those...

Ok here is a question for those smarter than me... I have a set of 15" rim that have a stud pattern of 4x114.3 is it possible to get the drilled to a 4x100 pattern as well - I mean we do it for disc brakes?

I know a lot of the euro guys do it with good quality wheels quite often, I think it probably depends on the type of wheel and if it's going to effect the integrity of the wheel would be my biggest worry.

In regards to the Motegi wheels, I would be pretty confident that they're decent quality, not sure on what price they're selling for, but if you get on tirerack.com they sell Motegi and ship to Australia quite easily and for very reasonable prices.

the rims are Enkei they come from the CH range, they are light weight and look pretty decent - if I was to go get this looked into further were or who would I go and see to do this - a brake place as they possibly redrill discs or a tyre and rim place like Bob Jane?

How good is the selection/price on 4 x 114.3 and the 5 stud for light weights wheels makes you just wanna do a stud conversion considering the options it might open up for brake upgrades also in saying that i don't know how hard it is to do.

Probs a specialist rim repairer/seller, since they'll probs need a fair bit of machining
