NSW just had an update to Light Vehicle Modification Laws last week.

NSW - Nov 2013

One thing about NSW now, the displacement percentage has gone up from 15% to 20%.
4g15 is 1496cc+20%=1795cc.... 4g93 1834cc
Which means Mirages are still just fall below the percentage for needing engineering... If only it was 25%

Weren't rages optioned with the 93? Of so you can put a 4g93 in no mod plate.

Something that might be useful. Mirages can be registered with a 1.8, no engineering slip, completely legally. After deciding to give up on my Rage, i tried many different places to see if I could get the swap on a change of engine code. 3 places I rang, were perfectly fine with change engine codes to a 1.8. They agreed that the mirage, was an extension of the lancer family and as long as you were putting a 4g93 from 96-03 in, there were no issues. And I would be happy to post those shops numbers, if allowed.

Same deal in Victoria apparently. Would need to simply find a shop that will accept that, which its sold as a lancer/mirage/CE chassis anyway

The links for SA aren't working anymore, any help would be great, alternatively,

If anyone has used any reasonably priced engineers in SA and VIC, It would be greatly appreciated for any contact details,

My employment has me moving around Aus quite a bit so I wish to collaborate with three engineers at once.

Will take that option, the QLD guy I have was going to charge me $160 for a full sheet of mods, so if your guy is happy to do it via Skype/photos I'm keen.

Preeeeeetty sure it's an in-person thing for him. $160 isn't much diff if your guy will do it via pics

Just because questions in relation to this are asked all the time, whenever ARC or a mod get the chance we should update the first post :)
Just to make it easy..

QLD & ACT & NT https://infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/vsb_ncop.aspx
(QLD & ACT & NT I know 100% use the national guidelines only)

(Also note this prior thread regarding the laws )

NSW http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents...ndards/vsi-06-light-vehicle-modifications.pdf
(That is the main link and you can find reference to all the others from there)
http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents/roads/safety-rules/standards/vsi-09-rev4.pdf
(This is the link for wheels & tyres just cause it's popular too and goes into lots of detail)

VIC https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/~/m...uidetomodificationsformotorvehicles.pdf?la=en

WA http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/licensing/modify-a-light-vehicle.asp
(This is more of an interactive style page with less specific info - just open the first two drop down tabs)
http://www.auslancer.com/index.php?threads/how-to-legally-modify-a-light-vehicle-wa.2993/
(This thread is also relevant and infers the WA also backs onto the national guidelines like ACT & QLD & NT)

SA https://www.sa.gov.au/topics/transp...istration/vehicle-standards-and-modifications
(This page is more interactive than specific - I'd rely on contacting the 'authorities' at your disposal)

TAS The only state and I couldn't find anything specific for - sorry :(
