Tweeter Locations

Hey guys,

Replaced all my speakers bar the tweeters, and im trying to figure out where/how to mount the tweeters. The stock ones are bottom of the a pillar, but on some retarded mitsi mount that i cant mount my aftermarket ones to. Any thoughts as to where? I've painted up some LS pillar covers (without the tweeter grill) so i can mount them anywhere on there, should i aim for same location? or higher up the a pillar, or where? Any thoughts/suggestions welcome
 
I think it was "abs" who managed to do a tweeter replacement, check his ride thread!

Correct :)

The stock mounting points are pretty good cause it produces even sound throughout and isnt really overpowering at ear level. If you were to place it in the middle or up above, I think it may over power the front door speakers and produce crappy overall sound. Nek minut....speaker upgrades lol. Its just my 2c worth :)
 
yeah problem is the stock mounts are stupid nd near imposible to mount an aftermarket tweeter too :( theyre all glued together grrr

drill a hole on the pillar, and mount the speakers on the pillar itself. Job Done. It may not look factory but it gets results.

Other option is to mount it on the door on that small triangle plastic in the corner opposite the side mirrors.
 
Yeah. Just annoying that the new tweeters I have are a few mm too hig tonfit flush mount on the pillar, so ill have to angle mount. Should I aim them at the occupants or up the pillars

Hey bro my car had tweeters fitted when I bought it but mine are in the door trim in front of the door handle. I can get picks at some stage if ya want

not sure how there mounted or wired though
 
i know alot of us americans usually drill out a spot in the door card, and thats how we put tweeters in. you usually dont see us put the tweeters in the stock location. i would just buy some soueast lioncel ones off of aliexpress and call it a day. *shrugs*

Looks good as long as it works. Would've sat flush if you installed in that plastic piece on the door, though it may take a bit more time. :thumbup:

yeah i looked at flush,ounting, but the flushmount that came with them are actually quite large and didnt fit cleanly anywhere
