Anyone know where I can get a decent Pod filter install? for a mitsubishi lancer glxi. Ive heard it increases power... :D How much?

Also I recon the pipe would look mint under the bonet

Oh

does not increase power, you will have a lack of power and more fuel will be used

but you do get a sick intake sound

this is one of the wrong places to ask most of the boys on here don't run "useless pods" but if u were after one being installed, i would go visit ur local autobarn not too sure if they are decent on installs and whatnot there. but here in bundy our local autobarn team does great installs or u could always do the job yourself as most of us here would tell u to do, putting a pod filter on isn't hard at all i have done one in my lancer. its hard to say if it does increas performance. everyone has different answers to if it increases or not.

i wonder why though....

i went back to my panel because having an open pod filter is illegal, i straight away noticed an increase in power and better fuel economy

Lame, dont go to autobarn, autobarn = overpriced

email henry, he can make u one thats garunteed to be better and cheaper than any POS autobarn will give u

hens@iinet.net.au

if ur going on budget but a entry level kit this one is for u--- cost $95 delivered (if u have a 1.5L, but he can probably adapt it to 1.8L engine if u specify)

or if u got the $$ this is as good as it gets, and will give u some leet gains---- cost $265 +post for 1.5L or about $300 for a 1.8L

do it right the first time and u will never regret it

my pod slowed my car down... so i just put the turbo on it now it feels back to what it should

I have a pod filter.. Works well. I love how it accentuates the paaaaaaaarrgh ... doot-doot-doot sound.

dawson the gains/loss by pods are that minimal u shouldn't notice them, unless u get a dodge pod, oh wait u did.

and res, sorry i didn't know henrey or any of them existed when i did mine, even though i did mine myself. i find that our autobarn here is good, well it really help when u know blokes that work there anyway

its not on my car anymore, muffles is using it on his 300zx tt  should of seen how bad his was

wow thanks guys for the response. This forum is awesome :D, i'll swing by autobarn and have a look.. get some quotes etc.. Is there anything else i can do to my car to make it more obnoxiously loud? :)))) (im kidding) lol the cat back does the job

u want loudness?
pod, farting cannon, hi flo-cat with 2.5inch pipe to the cannon... loud...?

i was guna doa pod setup, but hit up the K&N pannel. iv got better throttles response in 1st/2nd. also, i got a cold air intake i made up from behind my front bar to the stock box.

u can hear it sucking away when the air is cold some morning/nights.

Irrelevant of legalities, if you do go for a pod you need to make sure it's a cold air intake setup, ie the pipe goes down next to the battery and picks up air from behind the lower part of the bumper. Anything else and yes whilst it will sound nice it will actually just suck in hot air through the pod and sap power from the motor (remember colder air = denser = more fuel that can be injected = generally more power).

i have personally had a Short Ram Intake (SRI, where the pod is on the end of short bit of pipe in the engine bay) and when I went back to the stock airbox after getting a fine I actually noticed much better throttle response, I guess the noise of the pod had tricked my mind into thinking it was making the car quicker.... I now run the stock airbox with a HKS panel filter and a RalliArt intake duct. So personally I would suggest doing something alike what Joshyewahh did or purchasing the second pod and piping kit which resuliac posted. Whilst Henry isn't a sponsor of here I have used him in the past for my coilovers and I can highly recommend him as a good person to deal with and has a great rep!
