Official too lazy to search, noob friendly thread.

Hi,

I have inherited a runabout 2001 CE Lancer coupe with flogged out suspension including the strut tops. I do not want anything fancy and have found budget (read rubbish) coilovers to suit CS (CG/CH) Lancers. I have search the forums but have come out with nothing conclusive. Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to use CS units in a CE coupe?

They 'could' work.
That being said shocks are different length sizes, providing there is enough adjustment on the coilovers they will fit.
The knuckle in which the strut bolts too is thicker in a ch than it is in a ce so you will need to pack some form of a spacer in there.

Thanks Hornunga, that's excellent info. I might go ahead as the coilovers do have some adjustment and a bit lower suspension will be good.
 
so I’m upgrading my flywheel on my 4g93 swapped mirage too a fto flywheel wheel and a evo 3 clutch
Only problem is I’m having a hard time finding a fto flywheel
Does anyone know if there is another option I can use (like a evo 3 flywheel or something)
I have already bought the clutch

The fto flywheel has the correct 4g9x bolt pattern and the evo3 spec clutch disc width. I dont know of another flywheel with this spec. Evo 3 flywheel has a different bolt pattern. You can get away with a HD clutch and fork on a standard 4g9x FW. Refer to @donki and @staahnaah for experience

Hd clutch won’t be enough too hold close too 300hp from what I understand and read so that’s why I’m trying for alternate route for the fto flywheel
Oh well I guess I’ll just have too keep searching haha
 
I think there's only been two people who got remotely close to 300hp using the 4g93 engine - @YEZZZ and @DrB . You can get custom made clutches that will take the power no problem, it'll be the rest of the drivetrain you'll have issues with.
 
Stupid question, should the lug nuts be put on with the rounded side facing inwards as I found them in the image below or outwards?
Also, they required a ridiculous amount of force to loosen any reason why I shouldn't torque it to 90nm as per workshop manual?

Rounded side facing the wheel is correct - the nut will seal correctly against the rim as they both have the same seating angle. I tend to tighten mine to 'tight enough they wont come off but not too tight i wouldnt be able to fix it roadside if i cop a flat".
